The full Scampi and chips was fine. The small cod and chips was not. The batter was inedible and the fish poor quality. The cappuccino from the machine had bitter undiluted coffee on the foam and almost cold. The tea was a much larger cup size and as its served in a glass mug made it too hot to hold let alone drink. We had not been since the take over and probably won't return again. It's a shame as it was a good place to visit.

The food and service we received in this lovely cafe last weekend was fantastic. The food we believe is sourced locally which we loved! The restaurant was very clean as were the toilets. We highly recommend you visit this wonderful cafe, sit by the window such a beautiful view of the church. See you again soon. A definite 5 stars :)

Wouldn't even give this cafe a 1 star rating, the lady at the til was extremely rude to me and friend, when serving a meal to my friends child my toddler reached over to the plate as she was putting it on the table and actually smacked my toddlers hand away. I was disgusted. My daughter never actually recieved her meal and when questioned the server said she forgot. The food was absolutely vile, we ordered roast dinners and the vegetable were all raw, the meat was thinner than my toenail, we had to get refunded by another member of staff who was very polite and apologised. Will not be returning.

Town house cafe in Beccles was a stop in for a snack and hot drink. Clean and well decorated inside. Service and food was good, but like most independents struggling for customers in these times , and noticeable how cold it was inside. Do support these places.

Nice place. Good, basic café with food & drinks at reasonable prices. As well as the fixed menu they offer specials on a daily board. When we visited the café itself was clean, both the tables/chairs and the café itself. Spacing of the tables was well laid out (not overcrowded, cannot deal with 'cattle carts'), there were small rubbish holders at the table (good for sugar wrappers, etc...) along with salt & pepper, other condiments were housed on a shelf and there was a sufficient supply of them. The service was polite, very friendly and the food arrived in a good time considering how bust they were. The food itself was where it lost a star. The meal I had was quick & hot but both the ham and the chips seemed a little sub-par, it was passable but not great. However, I would recommend if you are in the town, and I will probably return for another visit and try another dish. Thanks, Martin.

Nice friendly staff, and very clean cafe, unfortunately I didnt think much of the food, the burger was horrible, I couldn't eat it, and the chips were not much better, however the salad was nice and freshly prepared. The eggs and bacon on the breakfast were nice although the sausage was very cheap and not great. It is nevertheless very reasonably priced and will fill a hole if you are hungry.

Don't bother with the roast dinners. They were poor. Who's ever heard of a roast dinner without roast potatoes?? The veg was boiled to death, the Yorkshire pudding was rock hard and the meat was just ok. It's the worst place to eat out at in Beccles. If you like a decent cup of tea, bring a flask! Utter rubbish
