Great for a treat. Superb food, friendly and efficient service. 2 of us shared 8 plates over the starter and main menu, as recommended. I was particularly impressed as I am gluten free and my menu was marked up ready and I could have 85% of the dishes.Dietary restrictions: Brilliant for gluten free

This restaurant is a must visit, have been especially delighted by the high bench seats. All courses were very good presented with plenty of diversity!

Fantastic ! The food was incredible! Very good service and lovely atmosphere. We came here for my birthday and it won’t be the last time. I say this has to be the top restaurant in Bury st Edmund’s for fine dining.

Too expensive for the quality and environment. Better premium restaurants are available in Bury St. Edmunds. But in particular we were left annoyed at being charged £25 for a "no show", when our daughter last minute (due to ill health) couldn't join us. After we spent a considerable sum on the meal, we would have expected more discretion. Not impressed by attitude. Will not be returning.

We had a fantastic dining experience here. It was great to be able to custom select our own tasting menu to share given the nature of the small plates. The majority of the dishes were well presented and tasted amazing. Particular highlights: the mushroom and truffle arancini, the oxtail and bone marrow pie (special), and the sopressini cacio e pepe. The tempura monfish was rather bland compared to the mix of flavours of the other dishes. The tiramisu special was a delight. Good wine options to suit all manner of tastes and budget. Service was impeccable, and we felt well looked after (thank you, Yann and team!). We'll definitely be back to try more of the dishes.

Where to start! The food was amazing, every bite was such a great experience of flavours and textures. The service was brilliant, great recommendations and knowledge of the wine and food.A really cool feature is it's a very small cosy restaurant but I was worried people would be coming and going, opening the front door, and lots of walking around. But actually I think they do only two seatings, one at 18:00 and one at 20:00. So you don't have people constantly coming in.The only thing I would change; they open at 18:00 on the dot, so if you arrive at 17:50 they won't be open, you'll have to walk around or wait outside.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend the taster menu. Excellent service and cosy environment. Fantastic value and stunning dishes. Will be returning as soon as I can.

The food was very good but only 2 things on the lunch menu & specials for vegetarian tastes. The chef accommodated us as a special request giving us more options but not really geared up for those that don't eat meat. Polite & helpful staff and would love to go again if they cater for a wider range.Vegetarian options: Not a venue for vegetarian diets

A perfect meal in an intimate setting, and though not a cheap restaurant, you won't get better value for your money anywhere. Extraordinary food (highlights were the venison tartare on a hash brown, and the white chocolate and passion fruit trifle), with warm, friendly service. I'll be back whenever I can get a tableParking: Large car park 7 minutes walk away, or take your chances closer byKid-friendliness: Wouldn't recommend this for kids

Small plates of sublime food and great service from this jewel of a restaurant!I visited here one Friday evening with my wife. We decided to go off-the-cuff and bagged the last table for two at the 6pm sitting; the only caveat was that we had to be done by 8pm. This proved to be perfectly adequate time and we had a great evening. We were both driving, so opted for water and a single standard glass of wine each - a vinho Verde and an orange wine; these were very good, especially the latter. Our special dietary requirement of being a bit greedy were well catered for; the plates may be small but we ordered plenty!Paremesan fougasse was light, crisp and covered in a generous blizzard of cheese.Rabbit and black pudding bon bons were satisfyingly meaty, with a pleasing kick of mustard.Salsify was deliciously yielding and came with a crunchy-crumb coating & another great dusting of paremesan.Venison tartare was very tasty, served atop a crisp and buttery hash brown.Spiced tempura monkfish had a light, crisp batter, was deftly spiced and lifted brilliantly with a squeeze of lime and a confit onion accompaniment.Chicken thigh had a soft interior with crispy skin, served on a bed of buttery mushrooms which sat in a pool of delicious creamy and truffly chicken jus.Hogget was presented in a crisp coating, delicately seasoned with cumin and served with a couple of excellent celeriac sides and a rich lamby jus.Our final main (possibly the best dish) was of perfectly pan cooked duck, with a great duck reduction, Jerusalem artichoke transformed 3 ways, into the creamiest and smoothest purée, crisps and whole roasted - which was crisp, yet yielding. Scattered hazelnuts were a welcome counterpoint of flavour and texture. We finished things with a tiramisu (creamy, boozy deliciousness) and a cannele that was as good as any I've had in Bordeaux. This all came to £158.06 (including service) which was a bargain for such a consistent performance, including some memorable highs and not a single bum-note.We will definitely be back ??
