We arrived without a booking hoping to get a drink from the bar and sit outside in the February sunshine. Sadly as we approached the bar we were met with a very frustrated member of staff who failed to greet us and proceeded to very angrily tell us the pub was fully booked. We asked if we could grab a drink from the bar and sit outside, the response was "only if you have to". Obviously we didn't have to and we chose to take our custom to a far more welcoming pub nearby having travelled 30 mins.

First time visit and will be back again in future. Was quiet but as I visited Monday lunch time it's not surprising but would have been a better atmosphere I think if busier. Next time I will try a different day in week. Food was good, my mate and myself both enjoyed what we had. Definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed a fabulous and festive Christmas lunch, excellent food, all 7 courses! Lovely and friendly atmosphere, excellent service and offers to take the generous cheese course and mince pies home, glady taken up. From the soup, our choices of beef carpaccio, then a sorbet, turkey / beef Wellington and all the trimmings, a vanilla panacotta followed by coffee - phew! Thank you to Hana, Steve and all the staff, including the adorable hound, for making our Christmas.

second vist to this pub drove over from Hadleigh nr Ipswich , the food was just perfect and I mean perfect , lovely hot plates friendy and lovely staff , so many top so called restruants cannot come close , we went with friends who where delighted also ,
Was in a group of 11. Meals were pre ordered and service was excellent. My meal was delicious. Staff at the bar and serving table were friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable evening.

Very nice , good old - fashioned cooking today, which is just what we wanted on a November day ! Two very generous portions of slow - cooked lamb with vegetables and potatoes served with beautifully buttered fresh vegetables on the side. Excellent waitress, very friendly and efficient…great pub …good food fair prices !

This was such a joy to find! Not only do they have a magnificent Weds roast (a rarity, and should be at all pubs forever), but it was easily the best roast I've ever had. I had the beef. It comes with extra gravy, a delicious yorkie and really fresh veg (also stuffing, roasties and mash). I got the cauliflower cheese on the side. The beef melted in your mouth. No fat, just totally wonderful. The staff are fantastic and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. I went the next night and had baked camembert and then beef fillet medallions. The drinks are great. It's very very reasonably priced. Couldn't recommend enough!
