We came in after fireworks and we were happy to wait as they were busy, the only waitress served THREE tables that came AFTER us (we were with a two year old) and literally ignored us until we left. While in there she also tries to kick out a group of 5 saying there was no space for them when clearly was, but decided to serve even them before us.Needless to say you lost customers for ggood ??

We visited route 66 tonight and must say we was overall very impressed. It was extremely busy on arrival, we was seated quickly and was asked if we wanted drinks. Are drinks arrived promptly and are food order was taken, our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. The food was hot and very nice especially the chunky chips. Our server was brilliant, very polite and nothing was to much trouble considering she was rushed off of her feet! She was taking orders clearing tables, seating customers, taking payments and delivering food to tables! Excellent service so good we left her a tip and well deserved. Will definitely visit again.

The food is amazing but unfortunately the service wasn't, we went on a Saturday early evening and the waitress was out of her depth. She got the drinks and food order wrong and we weren't the only table to have this some people got extras they didn't order with some getting totally different things to those ordered.Would eat there again purely on the fact that the food is so good.

Very disappointed, been previously and this time food was not great, burgers were very small and staff left us for half an hour before removing our empty plates and never spoke and asked if we wanted dessert or anything else so we paid and left. Definitely won’t be returning.

Great value and great burgers. Haven’t eaten here for quite a long time but will definitely be back. We had the two course menu for £12.50 which was excellent value for delicious burgers.

We have been customers for years. The food used to be cooked to perfection now it's a hit and miss. Sometimes food is fresh and cooked to perfection and sometimes it tastes like frozen meal.
The diner has a wonderful classic look and some reflective and attractive pictures on the wall and other objects to style the place up immensely including a jukebox where music is played and vinyl discs on the wall near the counter. And with the food, all good tasting and burgers here are one of the best I’ve had and the ribs was to but as the menu has changed the ribs changed to disappointingly. But the staff are more than happy to cook the food to my standards. Sam, the owner is wonderfully helpful and accommodating and cooks food well.

Saturday night takeaways in this house have been sadly disappointing in recent times, so we decided to try somewhere new (to us) although Route 66 has been established in the town for a good few years now - always late to the show! We ordered burgers and loaded fries each and I can honestly say they were some of the best we’d tried. Husband and myself are burger fans and we know a decent burger! Tasty and generous with toppings and likewise the fries. Everything arrived hot and although not cheap, it wasn’t the most expensive treat we’d had. Will definitely be returning if only to try a peanut butter shake next time - which are my weakness! Thank you for turning around our Saturday night takeaways.
