What can I say. A warm welcome London pub situated in the Essex countryside. Nothing is too much. From previous experiences at so called 5 star places. This is just not about the food. This about the passion as a family to deliver a safe environment for people and families to enjoy themselves. Even to tell the odd joke with the land lord. Yes this does happen in modern day England. From a regular that enjoys the experience of a pub, look no further than this little gem. This is a community pub run by real people that actually care.So hats off to the real people. If you’re looking for cutting edge new Bourne cuisine , this isn’t the place. This is a very traditional pub and please respect that and don’t ruin it.

Lovely Sunday roastFood & drinks: Lovely food and well priced to.Noteworthy details: It's a family run business where the owners are fun and accommodating. Kids are welcome. From what we saw the rooms look lovely but we didn't stay. There is a huge beer garden as well definitely worth a visit on the sunnier days.

We went to the Red Lion last night and had a great meal and stay. Angela and Jim made us feel really welcome and the food was homemade and our party of 11 all enjoyed dinner. There’s not many pubs like the Red Lion anymore and it was refreshing how homely it was. Will definitely be coming back to stay there next time we are in Suffolk!

The Red Lion is a lovely, family friendly and very sociable pub, serving excellent home cooked food, especially the Sunday roasts ! The very large garden is fantastic and children have plenty of opportunity to expend their energy while the parents can sit and relax.Jim, Angie and Robin always make their customers feel welcome and at home.A GREAT place!!
