Another first class afternoon tea with a warm welcome and attentive service - Thank

Amazing food and the most polite and helpful waiting staff I've encountered for a long time. Really couldn't fault the quality or standards there. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars not 5 is due to how noisy it was. The design of the restaurant (which aesthetically is stunning) incorporates high ceilings and open brick-work. Therefore when busy you cannot hear yourself think and genuinely struggle to have a conversation across the table. I appreciate this is structural and very little can be done but never the less it did take away from the overall experience which was a shame. Would have definitely given 5/5 otherwise.

A great place for a business lunch. We were meeting a team who travelled from the City and was nice to show off Ipswich in it's best light by the Waterfront on a crisp, sunny winter's day. The service was attentive but discreet and food great as always. Will be back

My wife and I visited the Salthouse before going to the cinema. We found the food to be decent but a bit overpriced and my wife's feather blade was a bit chewy in places. Our server was a bit pushy, trying to get us to buy the more expensive items and having over thirty minutes left to have a dessert we asked for a dessert menu which took ten minutes to arrive and then the server didn't return so we were unable to have one. While the venue itself is nice, overall we didn't find the food and service lived up to the prices we were paying.

Arrived for a ‘date afternoon’ with my wife on a quiet afternoon session Standards of cleanliness / service / decor etc all excellent Food menu a little limited but what was produced was of a very high standard Pricing - a big thumbs down from me. My wife ordered an expensive pork meal (£28) which I would have anticipated some accompanying items - instead you have to ‘build you own meal’ with extra dishes varying from £3-£5 which can soon increase the price. At least vegetables should be supplied with the meal? Overall a very pleasant experience, would go again and remain aware of pricing issues

Went for a pre theatre meal. Fantastic value for three courses and a drink. The Portuguese wine on the Specials board was lovely too. Staff helpful and service very good. We will definitely return.

We had a wonderful evening at the Salthouse with an Early Bird set menu. It was a well presented meal with enough to make you satisfied but not over full to bursting. We chose the same for each course, the duck liver parfait was lovely , the main was a bacon loin with vegetables and a duo of cheese to finish. We also chose a carafe of wine from their specials board as a treat. I thought the bacon loin although very good was salty but fortunately the accompanying potato dish managed to subdue the saltiness. The cheese duo was a perfect size and there were plenty of biscuits. The food was very good, the service excellent and more importantly we were not hurried. As it was my husbands birthday he was given a birthday chocolate ganache dessert which looked amazing. I would have no hesitation is recommending the Salthouse for Service, Atmosphere and most importantly, for very good food, expertly cooked and stylishly presented food. Their chefs do them proudWheelchair accessibility: Absolutely no problem with access all areas.

Food good although some portions a little small. Service good. As was atmosphere. Waited half hour for our table even though we had booked.
