Fantastic pub, whisper it quietly in these parts but not as good as the Fat Cat in Norwich, but brilliant nonetheless. Great range of really well kept ales and a superb chilli Scotch Egg. If you're in Ipswich you MUST visit this pub.

The Fat Cat has always been one of Ipswich's best pubs. It has real character with a cosy wooden interior, a warm atmosphere, and a large beer garden out back. Food is limited to the odd homemade scotch egg and a selection of crisps, but the star of the show is the selection of real ales served at very affordable prices - check out the chalkboards above the bar for the range available. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the locals are relaxed and chatty. Always great for an evening's supping and conversation.

Good beer but no pool table, but I do like that they let you get food delivered there to eat. Not bad for a fat cat. (I haven't tried the food).

Lovely neighbourhood pub just outside of town. Good,, wide range of well kept ales — worth the walk. Nice atmosphere, friendly, smiley, informed staff. Cheap cab ride back to station. Garden looked nice for summer months, will visit again.Only suggestion is background music and bigger glasses of wine.
