Unfriendly & unwelcoming to strangers. So we stay strangers & didn’t return! Maybe ok for locals but not holiday makers or those just popping in. As it is the only pub in the area, we went in for maybe some food. Was 9 minutes too late for that, so settled in with drinks. Went back in the evening for drinks. Table next to us were asked to leave as they wanted to close up 1/2 hour before advertised closing time. We felt uncomfortable so left.

What a lovely find. We stayed on the campsite in our motorhome and managed to squeeze in the carvery last night (Saturday) and a wonderful roast beef Sunday lunch today before we set off for home. Such a lovely, friendly pub and absolutely amazing food. The site was lovely and peaceful just a short walk to the beach.

Lovely gem of a pub after a walk along the coast! Delicious food, super clean toilets and very dog friendly. Will be back when in the area next!

We love going to the Vulcan when staying at Leiston. Trevor and his family are great hosts, with good pub grub at very reasonable prices. 3 lunches this weekend and Sunday roast is just wonderful. Even the dog gets roast beef as a treat. We will be back just as soon as we can. Roz and Paul and Poppy the Patterdale

Our first ever visit here , dropped in for a couple of drinks, pub a bit oldy worldly which we don't mind, plaing good old 60s music, landlord friendly enough, feeling a bit peckish and they were serving a Roast Carvery at about 7.30pm which would have been too much as we just wanted a snack, so asked if it would be possible to maybe just have a couple of sandwiches with either of the meats on , maybe a bit cheeky I suppose but as business say they are struggling would have thought they could have done that !!! charged us say £4/5 each wouldn't have taken 2 minutes and we would have been happy and spent a few hours there but no can't possibly do that , so we finished our drink and left after 15 minutes , sorry won't be coming back

It’s been a few years since we last visited the Vulcan. Good to see Trevor and the team have survived the upheaval of covid and the welcome was as warm as ever. We enjoyed the lamb and fish followed by spotted dick and bread pudding. There was a local band playing and we sang along Hopefully it won’t be as long before we visit again.

Lovely pub. Good service and friendly staff. Very traditional pub. Food served but did not eat.

Quiet pub by Sizewell.....went for bite to eat..food was nice few people sitting in bar area...easier to pay by cash here. Not being local, I wouldn't know what else this pub does but wouldn't imagine its noisy place

Very dog friendly. Landlord very chatty and friendly, gave assistance to other customers who were looking for another pub. Good fabulous had scampi chips and salad, 12 scampi which is a lot this day, gorgeous chips and very well presented. Would certainly go again. Very quaint pub with history.

It's a pub that does food. Owner/barman gas a very droll sense of humour and an excellent choice in music, mainly 60s and 70s.Pub is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Really good pub grub. Excellent sized portions, served piping hot. Good beers so what's not to like.

Having read some of the reviews on here I was a bit apprehensive however what a superb venue, food was exceptional the landlord and serving staff are possessed of a wonderful sense of humour, in my opinion anyone who has an issue with staff here probably needs to take a long hard look at their own behaviour
