After a lovely coffee and toasted tea cake catch up with my friend we waited 10 minutes to pay. I asked a member of staff if I could pay to be told she had other more important things to do and couldn’t split herself in two and told me to wait until she had finished her chores!!! She was exceptionally rude and spoilt a lovely morning. I have visited on several occasions, and whilst usually busy, never been spoken to in that manner! Will not be returning.

We've been visiting this cafe once or twice a year for a long time and always had a nice experience. High chair for little one. Coffee is also good quality.Kid-friendliness: High chair available and plenty of space to move it around.

Ordered 1 full English and 1 small English. Plates were cold, food was cold. For the price I would have expected a perfect breakfast. Only a half slice of toast on the small breakfast.... how mean. Even the pot of tea wasn't hot. Lovely place and staff tho, but its the food we go for....

Excellent service and menu choices. My first visit. Great place to catch up with friends. I had the beef burger which was juicy and cooked to perfection.

Came out for breakfast today.. epic fail. Kitchen running behind an hour, can't place an order for any food other than a dry scone and tea.. anyway, the chef looks like he just got out of bed, long greasy hair not even tied up or netted... yukThe staff are very pleasant polite and attentive, but the place is dirty, dusty, full of cobwebs and the food is far too pricey. I guess that ensures more pleasant clientele than the local Wetherspoons but all in all, disappointing.

Lovely café, but despite asking several times on previous visits, telephoning and emailing they still only have white gluten free bread. I thought the days of people only eating white bread were long past, especially in a farm shop setting! If you are gluten intolerant and don't like tasteless white bread I suggest Roots & Shoots garden centre, Narey's garden centre, or Laurel Farm, all of which do brown bread.

Best fry up I've ever had. Every time.

We came for lunch on 25th November, a busy Saturday for the Christmas fayre. The service was superb. Sandra, our friendly waitress, really made a fantastic effort to check we were getting good value for money from our orders for our two children. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the turkey club sandwiches which I would definitely recommend. We will definitely be back! Thank you to the cafe and to all its staff.Caroline

Went here today with a friend and initially it was just us and another couple on one table. Service was slow, two waitresses sat looking at phones. I had to ask for a coffee then had to ask for brunch choice. My brunch was missing one egg, I asked for brown sauce and had to remind the waitress as she forgot. It still wasn't busy! My single egg was under cooked. My second coffee never arrived and I had to ask for that Very disappointed ☹️

Poor communication no apologies!I telephoned to book a table for two at 10:51 on Monday 18th to arrive at 12;30 however the call went to answer phone. I was requested to leave my contact details and someone would be in touch. After one hour I telephoned again. The call was answered. When I mention I called an hour earlier I was told we don’t check the answer phone until the end of the day. If the young lady had apologised I would have continued with our plans as stated. However because of her attitude and no hint of an apology, I said I would make other arrangements. Her answer was. Ok goodbye.Customer service? Obviously no one has been trained in hospitality. Will not be eating there againMr B Bruce

Took my 80yr old parents for breakfast this morning it was a complete shambles waited 10mins & because breakfast was finishing shortly i spoke 2 member of staff who then took my order the it took 40mins for us 2 receive our breakfasts …… The food was terrible all the eggs were solid the poached eggs tasted of vinegar ( i know it’s used in cooking water but shouldn’t b so mush u can taste it) My Das 2 fried eggs was in fact one giant hard pancake of egg ?‍♀️ …. Then the server started taking our plates away b4 we had finished eating. not one person asked us at any time “we’re we happy with our meal” …. So all the reasons 4 going out for family brekkie lost as terrible service & terrible food … i asked 2 speak 2 the person in charge who apologised but was dissinteeested as were most of the staff in fact i was mocked by other members of staff 4 even daring 2 say anything … i NEVER leave reviews especially bad ones but they r my elderly parents who deserve so much more thanAlder Carr gave my Mum has supported Alder Carr from the very beginning .. it felt like no one really cared & p’raps they don’t but i do … i see no point ever coming bck.

My husband and I took his mother out for a light lunch today and although busy the cafe showed us to a table and took our order for 3 hot drinks and food ( 3 sandwiches). Our drinks arrived promptly but the food did not! Other tables continued to fill up while we waited and after 30 mins, when the table who came in 10 mins after us were presented with their hot food, I enquired when ours would be ready. After checking we were told our ticket was the next one and asked if we wanted a complimentary drink which my mother in law agreed to. 10 mins later my mother in law began to get agitated, she has dementia, after a takeaway order was taken through to a customer waiting in the courtyard, and she asked again about our order. After 50 mins wait we were finally given our order and then told the order was free of charge due to unacceptable wait which should not have happened. Though the food was really lovely, as always, and the compensation greatfully received, the wait turned what should have been a lovely lunch in a wonderful setting, into a stressful one due to the unacceptable wait.

It's getting expensive!! We live locally and regularly go to the farm shop which has some of the best fresh food, particularly the meat. The cafe serves delicious and filling bacon sandwiches but at £6 each it's stretching the budget. I know ingredients are expensive but I want to be able to afford to keep coming!!

The cafe is situated in a beautiful old barn. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We've breakfasted there a few times now. The selection for vegetarians and indeed non-veggies is really appetising. The wait time for the food to be served is absolutely acceptable and is certainly worth the short wait. The coffees are amazing. This is not a cheap place to dine but we have never felt that we paid over the reasonable odds. We look forward to our visits to this special cafe.

My husband and I were having a short break in Suffolk. A lady we met in an another cafe recommended the ice cream from Alder Carr Farm so we visited to try it. We decided to have lunch in the cafe which was delicious. Of course we tried the ice-cream and it was absolutely delicious! My husband and I always share puddings ( one pudding, two spoons) and we tried the damson, ginger and rhubarb and vanilla ice-creams. OMG! Fabulous. They’re all delicious but my favourite was damson. The servers were very helpful - particularly Thanida, who was lovely. A really excellent lunch!
