The only thing that let's it down is the lack of atmosphere. Very quiet for a Saturday night and I have no idea why as the food is far better than I've had in quite a few similar establishments.The food was excellent and the landlord was attentive without being overbearing and it was the same with the table service.It's very nice inside and the toilets were spotlessly clean which is always nice to see.Overall a very nicely place with excellent food and well worth a visit. My only suggestion would be for a little background music when it's a quieter evening such as last. ?

After reading some excellent comments about this place we decided to check it out , what can I say except this place is a little gem , wonderful building and the food was amazing , staff were all extremely friendly and gave us a very warm welcome Will definitely be returning
We love going to The Highwayman. We can always guarantee we will have a good meal. The food is always good quality and served to high standard. The owner and staff always very friendly and the service A+. Definitely recommend.

I wish I could pick The Highwayman up and move it back home with us!The atmosphere was so warm and relaxing, and the service was absolutely perfect with a very welcoming man behind the bar, and a lovely waitress who made sure we had everything we needed with our meal.The food was exceptional, exactly what we needed after a 3 1/2 hour car journey.I could not fault anything about our meal at The Highwayman and I would like to thank the team there for making it such an enjoyable evening for us!Vegetarian options: There is a board of vegetarian options. The red lentil and aubergine moussaka was delicious!
