Dined here last night as part of our stay at Pennyhill Park.\\nI'm gluten free, dairy free and soya free.\\nWe informed them of my allergies with 3 months notice.\\nWe called 1 day before to check they were aware of the allergies and to check that they could provide me with the t-bone steak and confirmed ok.\\nI was given a menu, the t bone steak was missing. I was told it's been removed from the menu, but I only called to say before!!\\nThey were not very allergy helpful.\\nThey did check with the kitchen, but was a lot of hassle.\\nI was told gluten free bread was on the way, 10 minutes later I was told it has dairy in it so I couldn't have it. What GF bread has dairy!? They had 3 months to plan for this!\\nStarters arrived and eaten... But still no drinks, so we had to chase for them.\\nI ordered potatoes with my main.\\nAfter the starters arrived I was told they didn't have any potatoes. So I ordered carrots instead. ?\\nMains arrive and potatoes turn up. Thought they were out of potatoes??\\nOrdered a drink, had to chase again as it still hadn't arrived.\\nIt was very clear that they didn't have enough staff.\\nFood was delicious.\\nFor £172, I'd expect a much better service and much better attention to allergies especially with the notice they were given.

Had 2 nights of lovely dinners at Hillfeld whilst staying at Pennyhill. Esperaza our waitress was most tentive, she was knowledgeable of the menu and was able to give good advice on choices. The food was outstanding, We definitely would recommend to all

We had a fantastic meal here, the menu was so good we were spoilt for choice, the food was superb, the drinks too and the service was lovely, we were served by Esperanza who was delightful, attentive and just perfect for our occasion. It's a beautiful setting too, we'll be coming back. No photos sorry too busy eating!

Do not recommend for Sunday lunch.\\n\\nFirstly, we had multiple different people trying to take our drink orders, everyone seemed confused and not really sure what they were doing. It ended up us having to tell the waiters our order despite 3 different ones apparently processing this. The waiter also dropped cutlery on me twice, this happens so a mistake can be forgiven, but it felt to me none of them knew what they were doing or how to successfully manage a table.\\n\\nWhen our food arrived, it was luke warm at best, we were under the impression this was batch cooked and chefs were just dishing out on a conveyor belt or our food has been sitting out the back a long time, either way not the expectation we’d expect for a 5 star restaurant.\\n\\nThen came our puddings, the sticky toffee puddings again were not hot - I’ve never had a sticky toffee pudding which is cold. My partner also mid mouthful came across a small brown bean, seemed to be like a coffee bean or something similar, something that certainly wasn’t part of any of the the rest of the parties sticky toffee pudding.\\n\\nThe part that let me down the most was the special requests I made. I specifically stated we were celebrating two birthdays, and despite all of us having puddings, sitting through a 3 course meal, nothing was done about this, not even a mention on arrival or leaving about the birthdays - it is like it was completely forgotten? A lack of thought and care. There shouldn’t be a special requests section if you cannot accommodate for this.\\n\\nOn the bill arriving, it was incorrect. They had given us someone else’s table, we honestly sent this back and they came out with a new bill which again was incorrect! They had not deducted our deposit despite us paying £100 upfront. We ended up having to tell them how to fix the bill and again it then took 3/4 confused waiters to try work this out.\\n\\nOverall, we were all extremely disappointed with the experience, it was very expensive for the standard of food, quality and service received at a supposedly 5 star establishment and would not visit again.

On arrival we very quickly realised we had our booking date wrong, but they managed to seat us no problem for our afternoon tea. So great start, however unfortunately it went downhill....the bread did not seem fresh but rather it seemed like the sandwiches had been sitting there for a while. The pastries and cakes were beautiful. The scones were very claggy, tasted like they were shop bought and warmed up. A very disappointing visit and I would certainly think twice before recommending or coming again which is such a shame as we have always thoroughly enjoyed before. Hoping this was just a blip.....

This is a nice place and gives you a feel of the typical British pub with class! Nicely done though the luxury element needs to be elevated. Food was decent - fish & chips were too oily for my liking. Chicken tikka masala was good. Service was good and efficient. Great feel of the place - can deliver much more!

Lovely setting and a great burger, very informal and relaxed. My daughter loved the non alcoholic cocktails.

Celebrating a significant birthday, I surprised my wife with afternoon tea, at Pennyhill Park. Our host was Adela who epitomised absolute best practice, she gave insight, offered suggestions and was attentive without being intrusive. We opted for the 'Pennyhill Park tea' and added a glass of bubbles each; total cost including tip, £108. Not cheap but taken in context as an overall experience worth every penny. We had 2 rounds of a variety of sandwiches, a pallet cleanser, a selection of exquisite cakes, scones, bubbles and two pots of tea. Our tea lasted over two hours, an extremely enjoyable afternoon which will linger long in the memory, Adela even provided a doggy bag for the cakes we failed to eat. Well done.

We came here for dinner and drinks while staying at the hotel - disappointing! Food was really bad (avoid fish and chips!) and staff inattentive. very bad atmosphere - and the whole place looks tired and trying to be posh, when it's in the fact the last thing it is!

I have visited Pennyhill Park many times over the years and it was my favourite place to go for afternoon tea until my last visit. I went for an early Mother’s Day present with myself, my four month old baby and my mother. The booking team were very nice in sorting out my booking and assured me that we would be seated somewhere appropriately with a baby, to have space for a pram. I have previously done the same when I have been with friends and their babies and have had no issue. On arriving everything was nice, we had a lovely table and the food was good. However I then had to change my babies nappy. I proceeded to the disabled toilets that have changing facilities but they were locked. I waited ten minutes and then knocked to no answer, so went to reception and asked them to help. I was told someone would be right along. Five minutes later, I had to go back to reception as no one had come. This time someone came with me, knocked and no answer, so said they would get someone to unlock the toilet and I should wait. Again five minutes later, no one had come and so I took my crying baby by this point to reception but was just told they don’t know who has a key to unlock it and that was it, could I wait! No I couldn’t, so I had to change my babies nappy on the floor of the ladies toilet. Next nappy change during the afternoon tea and I find the disabled toilet is still locked and head back to reception to be told someone will be along shortly. I say what happened last time and they say, well you could use the chaise longue in the other toilets and told they are just up the corridor, no they are not, especially when you are carrying a baby. My third and final nappy change the disabled toilets were still locked and told no one could unlock them still apparently, so I had to go back to using the ladies toilet floor as the other toilets were too far. I am so disappointed with my the experience I had that day and the attitude of the staff in reception was appalling, there was a complete lack of customer service that day towards myself as a mother with a baby. I will not be returning and that makes me very sad, as Pennyhill Park has always been my go to for afternoon tea, I even had a large 30th birthday party here but not again. Not family friendly at all.
