Nice , peaceful location on a lake . Food was excellent with a good selection of dishes and beers. Service was good and staff friendly. Would definitely go back , probably in the summer as it will be nice looking out over the lake with a cold beer. Did find it a tad

We had breakfast here, and it was pretty awful. The veggy breakfast sausages were really really overcooked and so was the 'patty', only just edible. The stale toast came dry, we had to ask for butter. In my opinion, whoever cooked the breakfast was not a chef. Hard yolk poached eggs, and breakfast mostly cold.We won't return

Disappointing ?.Not our usual experience of this place. The bacon was almost entirely fat with no actual meat. The sausages were barely cooked - one had zero browning on it - maybe pre-cooked and just warmed through in the microwave? The sourdough toast was warm but again had no browning on either serving. Just warm, dry bread. One of our coffees was served up in a small (espresso?) cup, was a latte rather than a flat white. We've been before, so know what to expect. One pot of beans was only half full.Admittedly, the restaurant was slightly busier than usual and you could see they were working on getting things ready for their lunchtime guests but it wasn't that busy!We struggled to get the attention of our waitress to bring this up. The glass of water I asked for never appeared. We had to ask another member of staff who was some way off if we could pay, having sat there for fifteen minutes with the bill.God knows why we didn't challenge the service charge on this occasion because it really wasn't deserved.

Sunday roast.Had the turkey roast, everything was tasty perfectly cooked. Dessert was a sticky toffee pudding nice portion size, and the sauce was nice with a treacle flavour, and avoided being too sweet.Service was great and staff were friendly and professional, if I had anything to say, it would be the panelling on the outside, put in during COVID times to serve outside, but for me it takes away the magic of being directly next to the lake like it used to have, as it's now just plastic windows. Overall. Though top marks for food, service and atmosphere in general. ?

Good value breakfast but painfully slow. Table booked at 10:45 and ordered within 5 minutes. Drinks took 20 minutes and food arrived after an hour. Frankly not good enough, didn’t even appear short staffed.

Unfortunately I will not be making any further bookingsThe Wiremill is not what it used to be, the food, service and all round vibe it now has is nothing compared to past yearsSomething seriously needs to happen to make this pub/restaurant get back to its former glory. It's a real shame as this venue has such good potential that sadly is not being used. What has happened?Very disappointed we used to visit monthly and seeing all the negatives reviews it seems I'm not alone in my opinion.

Visited The Wire Mill for lunch. Situated on the edge of a lake there was a scenic view from our table, out of the window. I had the Steak & Tangle Foot Pie. It was extemely tasty with juicy pieces of beer in a thick gravy , all in a crusty pastry pie. The mash was creamy and smooth. Could have down with some more veg to go with it, although the red cabbage was delicious.A lovely pub to have drinks, lunch or dinner.

This place looked so nice, but it quickly went downhill as we arrived. No one was Will to sit anyone down at a table when we got there. Was a queue of a couple of families.. the staff were all at the bar chatting. A team huddle at 19:30 on a Friday evening? Then later a group of kids came in, they got served water 3 times in the time it took anyone to realise that there were actual paying customers wanting to order. This was after one couple getting up and speaking to the bar staff…Eventually everyone gave up, one family didn’t even order food and left. Genuinely wish I had done the same, the food was awful.Didn’t even get a change to order desert as no one was coming to any of the tables to take orders.Never been for a pub dinner where all the guest start talking to each other about the poor service across tables and the staff just not giving a toss.Perhaps management had annoyed them and they decided not to work??Either way, this place is one to avoid at all costs.Food & drinks: Awful food, seemed microwaved and cheap.

A chill spot by the lake, the Wiremill Pub in Lingfield is a real find. The lake view is awesome, perfect for a laid-back meal.Tried their fish and chips—super good and a big portion. Service is friendly and on point.Prices are fair for the vibe and what you get. A solid spot if you're into good food with a view. The Wiremill Pub is a must-visit for those seeking a perfect blend of scenic beauty, delicious food, and excellent service.

Beautiful location, however not best places to have a Sunday lunch.Roast dinners were very disappointing, vegetables pre cooked and reheated, beef tough and pork dry.Asked for apple sauce for pork and was told they do it!Large glass of house white wine almost £11 - unbelievable.Won't be recommending Wire Mill to anyone who appreciates good food.

Pub with a beautiful outlook. Can be very busy.Food is generous and tasty, but it can be pricey. The inside of the pub is beautifully quaint, and loos always clean.Didn't stay in the hotel, but it does look like it would be idyllic!

The food here has gone down really badly!Very expensive! What to avoid :Nduja Chicken with tomato, firstly potatoes “crushed garlicky” what this means is baby potatoes cut in half, not cooked till soft so rock solid and no garlic… not crushed, and soft but crunch but just plain potatoes. The chicken came out cold TWICE!!!!! On one of the hottest days in September, so god knows how long been sitting there for.Second thing we ordered was fish pie - AVOID!!! This has no fish but lots of eggs and lots of mash potatoes which was dry and cold !Third thing was the steak pie, this is very much a shop bought microwave pie on top of shrivelled kale and carrots !Again was cold and took two attempts to be warmed up.I use to rave about this place but will never go back.

Very nice pub with great views. BEWARE OF LOW TOILET DOOR. I AM 6FT 2 AND THE DOOR HEIGHT IS MUCH TOO LOW, AS YOU BEN DOWN TO COME THROUGH DOOR AND SURFACE THERE IS A LARGE WOODEN BEAM. I HIT MY HEAD VERY BADLY AND HAVE HAD CONCUSSION FOR 4 WEEKS NOW. Write to pub management informing them of the danger but no response, not even an email to see we would look into the health and safety aspects of the incident. Otherwise a great pub. Food is mediocre though for the price range.Safety: Very unsafe toilet door entry, as outlined in review

Really nice pub on the lake.Didn’t get greeted with a smile, staff were unwelcoming; understandably it was a hot day.Ordered the roast beef and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Food was appalling. Potatoes cold, veg under cooked, cauliflower cheese was watery, beef was gristly and stone cold. Our waitress was super awkward felt like we couldn’t ask anything or say how we truly felt.Ordered the chicken instead and everything went in the microwave! Everything was super super super hot; chicken was dry.Wouldn’t return for a roast but definitely would try the pub grub that looks incredibly nice!gutted.

Fabulous views, fabulous service, mediocre food. Not many vegan options and the burger I had wasn't well cooked. My wife had ravioli and the dish was totally unseasoned and without any kind of sauce or even olive oil. Food needs improvement.
