I never leave a bad review but tonight is a first, we had a table of 6 and food took over 2 hours to get there. Steak was awful and at £40 you’d expect to get at least a semi good cut of meat. Staff were rushing around knocking stuff over left and right. I’d image the food would be good on a less busy night but stay away at weekends.

We ordered the hot seafood sharing platter, which was more like a stew than a platter. They forgot the dipping breads, then after fishing around for a while trying to find a prawn, I informed the waiter there was no prawns. The chef came down and said sorry he had forgot but he had stuck extra scallops in there. So he forgot the prawns? Or he's compensating with scallops? Which one is it? Then came down and said sorry again as he had forgot to prep them which is why they weren't added. I assume it was a case of trying to get away with not doing the prawns and hoping scallops would be ok. Well I didn't want extra scallops, that's not what I paid for. It annoyed me, and I felt I was being lied to, I didn't want to make a scene as it was my mum's birthday but it ruined my night. 2 things missing from an £85 platter should not be happening. First time and last time I'll be going.

To commemorate our dear friend's 30th milestone, a lively bunch of twenty gathered at the Acorn. Our taste buds were tantalized as the skilled chef prepared an array of delectable tapas dishes, meant to be shared among us. Each bite was enhanced by the exquisite selection of wines that accompanied the meal. As the afternoon unfolded, our contentment grew, leaving us all with a sense of culinary bliss. The food, service, and ambiance of the Acorn earned a resounding five-star rating from our satisfied group.

The best restaurant outside london. Always amazing to dine here and worth every penny. Bruce has incredible experience as a chef and if you want to know how the Oligarchs and Presidents dine this is the place to come. The steaks were unique and I would highly recommend them.

Amazing romantic dinner, highly recommended the seafood to share and the tomahawk, the wines selection are very good and the service was amazing, the head cheff , or the owner ( not clear for me ) personally went to your table to make sure everything is in the standards , the service from manuel was 10/10 , highly recommended this place for special occasions

Acorn is fine dining in not just Godalming but Surrey Hills. It's a gem and a labor of love. Bruce is an artist and everything is fresh, superbly prepared and exquisitely presented. The veggie tapas platter was amazing. Wine selection was great and mains portions (between the three of us we ordered the sea bass, vegetarian pithivier and the chargrilled iberico ham) were just right. Highly recommended.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian pithivier is very nice as a mains and Bruce can do a veggie tapas platter on request.

Been here three times over the past year, food is always exceptional. Bruce is a very experienced and creative chef, we are lucky to have him in Godalming. Seafood in particular is excellent; Bruce buys it himself and he really knows what he is looking for. Menu is always unusual and exciting, today I had partridge legs in a soy and honey glqze, then brill with a light caper and chorizo sauce. We'll be back in 2024!
