The general manager Alisha saved us when we needed a room last minute as we forgot our flat keys about 2 hour drive from Godalming - it was too late to head back! We were stuck and thought we’d have to sleep in the car! Already that month we had gone through a family death and other crappy problems so this made us feel worse. But Alisha came to the rescue - she was attentive, quick and helpful and solved our problem! She even upgraded us: the room was tremendous and we felt less stressed. Breakfast was lovely, the staff (woman with red/black hair) was very attentive and polite! We will definitely be recommending this to family/friends when they come to visit us!

Myself and my husband recently stayed at The Kings Arms Royal and it was lovely. The room was compact, but beautifully decorated, very quirky. The room had everything we needed and was very comfortable with some lovely little touches. We were visiting the Wessex Distillery for a tasting and tour experience, which was fantastic. The hotel is a short walk to Godalming train station, then the distillery was a short walk from Witley station (two stops on the train). Breakfast was calm and the food good, but make sure you book at check in otherwise you pay extra. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

We just got back from our second visit to thee Kings Arms and Royal Hotel. We had such an amazing time. The staff are fantastic and could not do more to make our stay special. The food is also amazing. Pair this up with a gin tour - we have done Silent Pool and Wessex distillery.

A very comfortable hotel with a friendly and relaxed feel. We were delighted to be given an upgrade. Our room was luxurious and very well furnished and stocked (with perhaps one too many pictures of Victoria and Albert!). The staff were lovely and the food divine. We particularly liked the cosy feeling of the tables in the spacious dining room and the rooms around the bar.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We found the room was well equipped although the bed mattress was a bit hard. The food was good, with an adequate menu (many items on a menu is always a bad sign - it shows that the food was taken from a freezer, not cooked on the premises). Car parking might be a problem, so we came early to get a slot.

Very impressed with the refurbishment since our last visit. Great location, lovely breakfast. Staff all excellent and a credit to the company and manager. Manager Alicia extremely helpful and friendly, service over and above, thank you. We will definitely return.

I've stayed at the King's Arms a couple of times on business for a night each time. The hotel is great, always clean, great rooms and friendly staff. I haven't eaten there so I can't comment on the food. The only downside is the limited parking.

We only stayed for one night, but it was great stay. A superb, clean room (Queen's room) with complimentary chocolate, biscuits, bottled water. Two well kept local ales could be had in the bar and the staff were very helpful. Recommended.

From thr moment we arrived until checking out we were very well looked after. The hotel is in a prime location on High Street within walking distance of the train station, local buses, shops, restaurants and walking trails. The bedrooms are luxurious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Guests can also enjoy a drink at the bar while soaking in the ambience. This was our third visit this year. Many Thanks to Alishia, Brenda, Charlie, Di, Jane, Lizzy, Mick and Trasy. Looking forward to our next visit.

We held our wedding reception at the hotel in May! If we could give it 10 stars we would. Food, customer service, rooms, staff EVERYTHING was excellent and the team went above and beyond. The setting was classy and romantic and all of our guests were looked after and treated like royalty. We continue to visit for breakfast, lunch, drinks, coffee and are never disappointed. Highly recommend for a small (40 ish) wedding that won’t break the bank either. And chef makes a wicked pie!

The staff here make this place the worst on the high street. The food and drinks are all good and well priced but being told to talk quietly when no one else was in the place takes the Mick.
