Cosy and welcoming pub.

Such good value for money. Food was great, service a little slow. We waited a while for our order to be taken, drinks to be given and dirty plates to be cleared away.Lovely little pub, we would still come back!

I am not often impressed with pubs, but this is the exception! The service was absolutely excellent even though we hadn't booked and it was a Sunday. The food was so tasty and definitely value for money. They will be seeing more of us.

A great place - fabulous food. We had the split pea and ham soup with the really tasty ham toastie topped with a quails egg.

First time visiting the Star in Witley for a Sunday lunch, and I was thoroughly impressed. Stunning pub food, very tasty and good quality ingredients, very generous portions too. It's not often you have a Sunday roast at a pub and you leave roast potatoes behind because you are so stuffed! It's great to have good portions when you are paying around £18-20 a course. The atmosphere was great and the old pub features give the Star a superb vibe inside. The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. Good range of drinks available, and good prices for those too. May need a bigger car park if more people start to discover how good it is - I can't wait to go back!Recommendation: the pea and ham soup with croque madame. A starter I could have eaten twice, it was so delicious, generous, and warming.

Group of us ordered roasts, bit exaggerated to say served with “pigs in blankets” when only one is provided. The horseradish sauce was very odd tasting- really bland - had to try friends bread sauce to check they hadn’t given us that. The unlimited veg is a nice touch so overall a decent roast. However £5.25 for a pint of lime and soda is extreme. I know not a comparative establishment but it’s 75p a pint in Weatherspoons! Actually more expensive than Coke, Orange and Lemonade etc
