Ludo and the team made our wedding booking fantastic, couldn’t have been more helpful leading up to and during the booking.

I booked a 4 night stay in the hotel and I have to give it an absolute recommendation to stay at. Staff were very professional and friendly: I arrived in the morning (10) and asked if I could leave my luggage and they checked me in and said I can leave my bag and they will put it in my room once it is cleaned, room should be available 2-3pm (official check in time). I came back around 2pm and room was ready and luggage in.Hackney in general is a beautiful area to stay and is actually a good walking distance from the city center (I walked to Camden/Canary Wharf/ Soho/Kensington etc) but of course you can use the overground/underground or busses as you like. The area has beautiful parks around, many cafes/restaurants/pubs and the area is quiet/safe at night.Rooms are clean, well looked after and cozy with everything you need (kettle/water/tea/coffee included in the room). If you need loads of space or have trouble with stairs this is not for you. I would say tho be mindful of other guests at night as sound proof is not best and there is no night staff around to remind you of your manners. I will stay again!!

The Old Ship is an incredible pub and the staff are attentive, friendly and do everything that they can to ensure that their customers are well-looked after. Shannon is an incredibly manager! As regulars, we came into the Ship today for after-work drinks which were unfortunately disturbed by a commotion. Shannon, the manager, dealt with this incredibly and ensured that everybody was safe and looked after. Unfortunately, the couple involved were provocative and wouldn’t allow the manger to do her job. It was distressing to see how poorly she was being treated while trying to diffuse the situation.Fortunately, she was able to remove the offending parties and those of us who were just here to have a lovely, quiet drink felt reassured and looked after. This is a beautiful pub and the family-friendly feel is welcomed. We’re incredibly grateful to all the staff at The Ship and just incredibly sorry that they have to put up with such horrendous behaviour. The food is beautiful (especially the Sunday roast!) and I’ll always happily head here for a cheeky rum and orange (only a dash of orange though!) and an accompanying tequila!

Today 8th of March 2024 as regulars of this pub. This evening we arrived sat on our own. We got approached by a male he asked to kiss me in front of my partner. I replied no it was inappropriate. We made the staff aware as my partner was not happy. The Manager Shannon asked him to leave he refused,10 long minutes later I went out for a cigarette, I did not say anything, he started videoing me against my will I reacted as I did not give permission, the person kicked off, my partner got involved. This should not have happened if the GM did her Job properly he should have been moved on quickly, but instead she decides to ask US to leave. As an ex GM she dealt with it disgustingly!!!! Her female bar staff grabbed me.. IM DISABLED ON A CRUTCH, im now in pain from being grabbed by this girl.THIS SITUATION SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF THE GM HAD DONE HER JOB!!!!!THIS IS DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOUR.I WANT AN APOLOGY!!!My partner would not have reacted if she had the situation under control. This Manager is immature, unprofessional and under qualified. My name is Michelle Noble an I want a response to this complaint.Further more I would like a senior member off your company to contact me in relation to this incident. Not a apology, I want this logged and a formal complaint made, to man handle a disabled person is horrendous.Select your staff more carefully in future. I will be calling your head office on Monday!!!!

Well, since our last review, which we gladly removed, it's gone back to how should, (Thank you, Shannon) uber friendly helpful staff on the whole. Food looks delicious even though we've not tried it..... yet.Worth a visit, but check if there's a party booking / private party / closed to the public

You guys have to try burger there! It’s simple but sooo delicious! ? my friend loved his half of chicken as well (whoever made this coleslaw should go straight to heaven - his words).Staff is super nice and attentive! It was our first time in Old Ship but we felt welcomed like regulars. They definitely taking extra mile for their guests. Hidden gem of Hackney ?

Went for Sunday lunch and the staff are friendly and down to earth - shout out to Shannon!! Portions are decent however we did ask for our beef to be medium rare and it was medium yet it was tasty all the same. Recommend and will go back.

Shannon gets a special mention for arranging suitable seating for my disabled guest beforehand. She is a particular asset to the team, but all the staff were attentive and friendly. The Sunday roast was fabulous and the chocolate brownie delicious. Drinks were served at the table without fuss or delay.A very well run, obviously happy place. We had a lovely time.
