Both female staff members coughing away. I appreciate its a difficult time of year but there should be more in place such as washing hands, sanitisation etc. Watched both members cough into their hands and continue working/ making people's drinks.Not good at all considering we have just come out of a pandemic.

Nice coffee shop. Great customer service, however there was only 1 person working during the lunchtime when it was a little busy. Apart from that, a nice place to get a coffee.

Rude staff. Long wait. Messy restaurant. Tables dirty.Even worse if you go in for breakfast.Never been after dinner so maybe the mood is better then.Cant recommend before 1pm tho.

Pretty good for a chain coffee shop. The staff are always very polite and friendly, the coffee is also nice, and there is always a good atmosphere in the cafe. Although it can get quite busy at times, I find it is a good place to get some work done and have a coffee. It is also a great location hence it is easy to get a drink to takeaway and go for a stroll on the high street or the park.

We went on Saturday 14th Oct. It was busy and my husband queued while I found a table. It was full of dirty crockery from the previous occupants so I cleared it myself and found a waitress to wipe the surface. We had two sandwiches, a coffee and a hot chocolate - all items were completely tasteless, the coffee just watery milk and we noticed the bread was only buttered on on slice, so I asked the same waitress for some mayonnaise to be told they had none, I explained the sandwiches were tasteless and needed butter to be told I could have butter but would have to pay for it!! She was completely disinterested and couldn't have cared less. I watched her work and she didn't even have the common sense to realise what using a tray could bring to her life!!!! Does nobody train the staff to smile and give the customer what they want anymore?

Ordered through Uber Eats. Received the wrong order. Got a refund and placed my order again. The cheese toastie was stone cold and a sloppy mess and the Latte Grande was only filled half way. This used to be a great cafe but lately it's gone down hill massively. Won't be ordering from here again.

Café Nero is very near the metro but warm as inside Fenwick (in basement). The staff are smiling and they make divine coffee. They are also good at getting me my large glass of ice before I have asked for it. Know that you are all really appreciated. Kindest regards, “Susanna”

Absolutely disgusting service received yesterday morning first thing. Arrived just as they opened there where 5 of us. One of our party explained quite clearly what we wanted. The most miserable girl ever served us she had absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever she got one of our orders wrong and threw the wrong order in the sink. She should never have been employed by the coffee shop especially as its customer facing. There are so many people in Colchester absolutely desperate for a job perhaps the company should employ somebody who gives a dam. How on earth she got the job i’ll never know, but what l do know is they have lost 5 customers who spent quite a lot when visiting.

We popped in for a late morning coffee. Both of us had iced coffees. The pistachio iced coffee has more to it than the iced cappuccino but they were both OK. The space and decor again is OK but like a lot Caffè Nero establishments, it's in need of some updating and a good deep clean. Staff are efficient. I don't know what the policy is on dogs being allowed in the café but someone did come in with a dog while we were there. Maybe not an issue for some, but I did notice that the staff petted the dog and then went on to handle crockery and utensils afterwards without washing their hands.
