food was amazing, met the nicest waiter of all time! His name was Shabba he made us feel really welcomed, and happy to be there. He had great banter and helped us get the 50% off on pizza I really recommend this place and thank you for making my brothers 18th better!

Shabba served us tonight 29th Dec. Great waiter and made sure we got our rewards from the app?. Jesmond venue is always friendly and welcoming. 2 kids with coeliac and always very accommodating to their needs.

Christmas Eve jaunt to Pizza Express, Jesmond …a Romana Porchetta Pizza was calling. Dismal affair indeed. Hardly anyone in, the place was cold and had as much swing going on as a Christmas Turkey Slaughter House. Staff were bored, just standing about wishing they were some place else. Starters were overpriced. Dough balls were very uninspiring and covered in half a jar of what could have been Filipino Berilo Classic Pesto, which I guess added a bit of a zing to this very…. been on the menu forever and a day, cardboard starter. Porchetta pizza was a very disappointing affair….hardly any Porchetta on the top. Considering it cost £17.25 it should have been covered in it ….£17.25!!!!!!! For the pleasure of sitting in the cold, unfestive restaurant, eating a pizza with a meagre porchetta topping £74:80…!! For goodness sake…. What a rip. Prices inflated and quality slashed. The end.

Customer service 0 out of 10. Three staff on shift grumpy, didn't respond to complaints, yes they actually did, in a rude manner. Although we came with children we weren't given a kids menus and had to get one ourselves. My grandson asked for a straw with his drink, this was just thrown on the table. Waiting time for starters 30 min. It was Christmas eve lunch, but the restaurant was half empty, five tables occupied. Waiting time for mains after starter 45 min., staff's excuse was because we had starters. Pizzas weren't sliced, overhanging the plates, trying to slice they slipped off the plate and nearly off the table. I mentioned the " service" to the waitress, it was responded with a shoulder shrug. Speaking to the manager, he half-heartedly apologised. Total bill 70 pounds, worst waste of money.

Went for supper earlier this evening and had good food as usual but Shabba made our Pizza Express experience so much more special. He was unbelievably kind and attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy throughout our meal.
