I have been dining here for many years both in Porterhouse and the adjourning restaurant Saltwater were you can also choose from their menu. The last 2 times i have visited i think food and service is going downhill rapidly , my last visit on 03/01/24 was not the best , there was only about 6 people in the restaurant and my starter of oysters with chorizo sausage arrived without the sausage, when i questioned the waiter he spoke to chef who said he forgot about the sausage! When the main courses arrived , my wife ordered a fillet steak to be cooked medium which was tiny in size, and it was rare ! It was sent back , and after 5 mins it arrived back to the table still rare in the middle - when you are paying fine dining prices i expect the food to be perfect , I ordered the Halibut fish which was nice but the skin was soggy! when you pay £42 for a very small piece of fish i expect the skin to be crispy. However the last few times i have been to both saltwater and porterhouse they are unfortunately on the decline , i feel the staff are inexperienced and the quality of the dishes are not the same , even though the produce stills looks amazing , so i won't be going back for a very long time.

These guys go the extra mile and every year source me a quality pheasant and you can buy all the extras here, tho bread sauce was an issue ...maybe have tubs of this next year pleaseBacon the very bestEggs free range real farm eggs wow so tastyAnd himalayan dried beef i'll try next timeI'll be back as Arnie wud say lolBest store in the country I kid u notHappy new year to all the lovely staff xo

I was dining with a friend who is a regular visitor here. She normally opts for the hake but today we decided on the liver and bacon which was melt in the mouth gorgeous. We like a light red and our server recommended the montepulciano d'abruzzo which was a great pairing. The restaurant was busy and buzzing but the service was excellent. Thank you to the whole team. You were brilliant ?

Steak shocking my husband asked for medium rare it came medium well my sons couldn't eat his it was all fat and grissel myself and youngest son steak was really tough we ordered chips but when arrived we were given skinny fries which were changed to chips by this point our steaks were on the table for 5 mins and ended up cold the peppercorn sauce was split and watery we did let a member of staff no this who just said i will tell the kitchen no offer of changing our steaks absolutely shocking £200 and walked out hungry

The food saved it. We weren’t acknowledged for the first 20 minutes of us being there. After bringing this to the attention of the “manager” as the other one wanted to avoid us and favourite every table around us.. they didn’t even knock anything off the bill without me asking! Honestly abhorrent! Will never return!

Great food and great location situated within the Fenwicks food court. Starters were amazing and the overall quality of food was fantastic. Steaks were served very rare unfortunately when asked for medium rare, thankfully very well rested so still really enjoyed and suspect it was more of a mix up rather than incorrect cooking. Really helpful and friendly staff, great food and great location will definitely return.

The porterhouse butcher and grill is clearly a once in a while treat. We tend to go every couple of months for an afternoon meal. We’ve ate both from the fish menu and from the steak menu.The food is excellent, unpretentious and simply cooked and served. The quality of the food is outstanding. I’ve had the most delicious tasting steak and fish from this kitchen.The hot oysters are a favourite. We’ve had the “fruits of the sea” which is an impressive and lavish range of sea food served either hot or cold. Gorgeous! The sides are excellent too.The range and quality of the wines is superb and compliments the food perfectly.The customer service is of a very high standard and the staff strike the right balance between being personable and professional. The staff clearly are knowledgeable about the food and wine here. They certainly justify the expensive price!My only complaint is the faint existential guilt I feel when eating at such as splendid and posh restaurant. You are surrounded by middle and upper-middle class people which can be suffocating… I somehow clean my plate though and leave very satisfied.

Fantastic restaurant,food was 10/10 no fault as usual. Service was great new girl ocean tried her best to make sure we were ok with everything and were happy which we were . It was nice to speak to Nick very nice man . Already booked again for December. The cocktails were amazing and the wine is always top class love this place x

Service was good, we went for the Lunch Special. Oysters were good, Steak was mediocre at best. Staff were accommodating for menu options for my daughter. Would come back but not for the Lunch special menu.
Overall we thought our visit was good value as we went for the express lunch deal. Would definitely come back, the steaks were amazing!

Been meaning to visit this place for a while but came today and was not disappointed. Service, ambience all good. we went for their great value lunch meal deal. Steaks were amazing! Will deffo return again.

Slightly odd to walk through the shopping centre at closing time to find the restaurant but staff very helpful re directions. Very nice restaurant decor, all tiles and clean lines. Welcoming staff who were very helpful re the menu choices and also chat about starting uni in the city (I was taking No1 son to start his uni career!) Good wine choices of varied price range. Good set menu and specials. Helpful re gluten free choices and ability to create a variety of what was / was no available. We had both fish and meat dishes, both of which were excellent. Slightly lack-lustre re atmosphere as only three tables taken but actually it was nice to be able to hear ourselves!
