Love this place, would always choose over the big chains. Recently enjoyed Wonka in the Gallery which is a small, intimate theatre making the viewing feel even more special.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching One Life in the small cinema at the top of this historical building. From buying tickets, enjoying a coffee in the coffee shop while waiting then climbing the stairs to the showing... The staff were friendly and helpful. Really hope that this place can stay doing good business for many years to come!

Love love love this community cinema! Go-to place for many people. A bit sad that the cafe opening hours and the menu have become more limited over time, due to running costs. Wish the mgmt could review their menu and cafe selection so we could give 5 stars to the cinema and cafe combo!

Very nice cinema with lovely seats. Not your usual mainstream cinema. Fairly expensive though!

It's my favourite Cinema. Always visit on Christmas Eve. The Shop on the Corner was the film and it was super cool xxx

An eclectic cluster of movie screens found just off Grey's monument. Offers a diverse playbill from black and white classics to indy films to first run major studio productions. Our visit was a nice break from the hussle and bustle of the Season.

What a great venue for seeing a range of films, many of which would not be shown at the large chain cinemas. Friendly atmosphere, food and drink options. Please keep supporting it so we don't lose this wonderful place.

Fantastic arthouse cinema with 5 screens, in an original art deco building with mosaic floors and ornate ironwork. The building is the last surviving 'newsreel' cinema in the UK, and was founded by the uncle of local lad Ridley Scott! Comfy seats in all the cinemas and good sound systems. There are some bars where you can buy snacks and drinks, and yes you can take beer in! They show some Hollywood films as well as independent and vintage films. Very highly recommended, and your ticket will help to support this excellent institution, which unfortunately is always short of cash.

A great place to see independent films and the latest blockbusters. All the staff are very friendly and with a young tyneside card you can watch for £5.

Very nice cosy cinema. Much more private than commercial big ones. I'm a huge fan of it. Lovely ambience and a great bar too for drinks, coffee and treats

The Heritage tour was very informative, and it was great to learn about the history of the cinema from our Heritage Guide. The newsreel shown was from well before my time, and provided an excellent insight into past events and how they were reported. The Tyneside Cinema is well worth a visit

It's always a special experience seeing a movie at the Tyneside Cinema compared to bigger, more commercial venues. Customer service is always fab. I went to see a film alone, for anybody nervous about doing this, this is a great place to try it as it's a smaller, more intimate setting. Many people at the screening I went to were on there own too. I didn't feel uncomfortable or out of place at all.

Came here for the 40th anniversary screening of Auf Wiedersehen Pet and loved it. A very small little cinema in the heart of the city, it'd easily go missed of you didn't know it was there. Has a lot fo character

One of the best independent cinemas going at the moment. Some of the best showings for the big upcoming new films with early releases. Comfortable seating, lovely cafe, cool overnight fun screenings and genuine staff, who’ve never been a problem but have always made the experience great!P.S - make more shirts with the over night showings (I will buy them)
