I know the place closes at 2pm in the afternoon but they must turn things off way before that. Just spent £25 on the worst food I've ever had from a fish and chip shop. The burgers and sausage were way undercooked, the fish was okay but they must have turned the fryer off at 1pm, I've never been served chips so cold. This place used to have a great standard now completely sub standard. This is not the Maguires of the past.
Very unpolite staff, asked for the 75p and they turn round and say aye that's what I thought and still paid the woman behind the counter and fish falls apart

This is our local and has been inconsistent for decades now. It seemed to hit a sweet spot about a year ago - a bit expensive but everything well cooked. Went last week - good portion of chips but pale and the fish was thin and overcooked. Pretty much £18 wasted :-/

Outstanding fish and chips. East in the region for taste and price. Good size portions, friendly staff, great flavour. Definitely our go to for whenever we want fish and chips.
