First time here and it was nicer than expected. Lovely staff.The food is your usual deep fried, heat up easy kind of menu, ours was made fresh, came out hot and it went down a treat.

I went to the Bay Horse today, 25th December 2023, for our family Christmas Lunch. It couldn't have been better. The room and table were tastefully decorated with Christmas themed decorations. There were some nice touches like lit candles, crackers and table decorations. I had the Turkey dinner whilst my parents both had the Steak. The food was really nicely cooked and well portioned, and it was clear that it was not veg that had came out of a freezer. I would go so far as to say it tasted home cooked. There was only 3 of us but it saved a lot of hassle instead of cooking at home. The staff were really good and made it a really nice day for our family. Thank you!

I had my sons engagement party in the lovely function room up stairs on Saturday the 18th November the room was all decorated beautifully everyone commented on the food it was fantastic so thanks to Cheryl for an amazing evening staff were great we all had the best night thank you xx

Wasn’t expecting much from here but was thoroughly impressed!The Sunday lunches were buy one get one free - less than £20 for two Sunday lunches and soft drinks! And the food was delicious- the turkey wasn’t dry and the portion sizes were really goodHighly recommend if you’re after a tasty, affordable and good value Sunday Lunch

My daughter lost her partner 23rd July 3023 she decided to have the wake at the bay horse in whickham. Dion and her staff were amazing Cheryl kitchen manager listened to what we wanted there was loads of food everybody commented how lovely it was . It’s a very friendly pub would highly recommend the bay horse for any occasion.

An amazing local pub. We are always greeted with smiles from both staff and customers alike. We go a few times a week with our toddler and are made to feel really welcome. We meet up with old friends and make new ones, it's a really community hub. Thanks to Dionne and the team!!

Ive never had a dinner so bad.. i only went as had been for breakfast at harry clasper next door and seen they had offer on at bay horse for sunday lunch. I had beef that was the worst full of blood. Hard roasties. No peas. No mash swede nothing. Unsure how to upload pic or vid of dinner but was gobsmacked.. shocking. Couldnt fault the staff tho lovely people. We spoke up at the time and was offered an alternitive but after the dinner we couldnt face anything else. So disappointed as had high hopes it would be a nice meal. Refund should of been offered and to be honest also a voucher as the food was that bad. J never write reviews but had to with this meal being so disgusting. If u know how i upload pic or vid id happily do so. Again i repeat the 3 staff i spoke to couldnt of been friendlier got further down and seen i can upload oops
