A nice pub. Very friendly staff. Only having one ale on draft was a bit disappointing, particularly as it was Worthingtons. Uni Maths Soc has a charity fundraiser karaoke which was highly entertaining.

Run down appearance inside and outside. Tables were sticky as were the menus. The floor was also desperately in need of cleaning. The larger and the bitter we ordered were almost undrinkable. Obviously due to poor maintenance of the lines. The staff seemed more focused on socialising with selected customers rather than the clientèle in general. Overall a deep disappointment, there are I'm sure many better pubs in this town, I couldn't imagine there being a worse one.

Popped in for some food.Clean, friendly and the food was excellent. We both had bangers and mashe. Several different types of sausage and the same for the mash and at a great price.Can't criticise anything.

Sunday lunch visit. I had the turkey roast which was delicious although the roast potatoes were not as crispy as I like. My partner had a sirloin steak cooked perfectly and very tender. Portion sizes were good and I think good value for money. Staff were efficient friendly and polite. We will definitely return in the not too distant future.

Popped in for dinner and wish we hadn’t. Very dirty as can be seen in the photo of the salt shaker. A group of very loud men were in shouting, I thought the landlady was going over to ask them to keep the noise down a bit but she sat and joined them. Will avoid in

Me and a friend of mine who came to visit stopped in for lunch and settled on the sirloin. The steak was cooked to perfection, as were the sides. The side salad was refreshing and the peppercorn sauce was rather special. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and great service at a very good priceFood & drinks: Incredible
