Well done for having a child free zone, I enjoyed my dinner and drinks in quite. Most of these places are full of screening kids.

Went here in the build up to Christmas. The festive menu seems a good option, and the festive burger sounded good with the loaded roast potatoes (for an extra fee). The burger was described as having a cranberry mayo, which was just cranberry sauce on the top bun and mayo on the bottom. Not exactly what I was expecting. The loaded potatoes didn't come with my meal. Instead, It came much later after request and when my burger was finished.I've been here a few times, and this was the worst experience there. Hopefully just a one off

It's normally ok here but one of the waiters was a bit of an idiot when my colleague complained about the portion size of the chips in her meal. His answer was 'sorry the chef sets the sizes, nothing to do with me'... nice one!!Fortunately, the supervisor was very understanding when we complained about his service!

Poor service on Christmas Day. Prosecco served in tumblers. I was given an exorbitant drinks bill that wasn’t mine. Didn’t feel like Christmas Day.

Dropped into Brewers Fayre today as a cheap stop off with our 18 month old after picking up a vehicle that was in a garage getting work done. First impressions initially weren't great, the lady that greeted us looked like she was having a bad day and wasn't overly happy or approachable. This did irk me slightly as it had taken two hours to drive from Newport to Barry due to incredibly bad traffic. However from that moment on, all other staff we came into contact with were very friendly and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble, with the rest of the service being akin to a more upmarket restaurant. There was quite a diverse demographic in the establishment at the time and with the Christmas music playing at a decent level it seemed to keep everyone happy and cheery. I felt the food took a little longer than I would have liked to be served, however in defence of the restaurant it probably wasn't that long, but when you have a toddler hungry and tired, everything feels like an eternity.Once the food was brought out to us, they were decent portions, well cooked and very tasty. The portions were big enough for us to break up some of the food for our little one to nibble on whilst also ensuring we still had enough leftover for us. finally we finished off with a dessert which myself and my boy shared. Prior to leaving our boy was utilizing the space available after a lot of the customers had left. All staff members engaged with him and it truly made it feel like a proper family friendly pub/restaurant that you don't come across all too often anymore!I'd happy pop in here for food again in future, great to see a good bunch of people enjoying their work and making it a pleasure to visit. Huge kudos.

Incredibly short staffed, and they run out of Christmas pudding despite us booking a Christmas lunch with them. No table service. I think if they improved staff numbers ie doubled the number it would be a happier place for all!

My first visit, unplanned as my flight had been cancelled and the airline booked me in. Lovely staff, in particular Carl, who was very kind. Food was good too!

An enjoyable evening. Only downside there was a rather large queue at one point. More staff arrived to clear the queue. So all in all a good night. Good food and good IPA.
