Lovely guest house within a ten minute walk to the please park and Barry Island train station. We stayed over for a night for the Gavin and Stacey tour and it was the perfect location. Upon arrival we rang the door bell and was swiftly greeted by Lyndon, who is a very friendly man with a great sense of humour. He informed us of where to park and to fill out a breakfast form. We arrived earlier but our room was already ready for us which was a bonus. We stayed in room 3 which had been recently refurbished and new carpet, a lovely modern room with a smart TV, mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of storage for our bags. It was nice and quiet in the guest house and the bed was so comfy! We had our breakfast which was made fresh to order, and tasted delicious. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Barry! Thank you for your hospitality and for making us feel so welcome. ?

Great stay at Gail's. Very friendly hosts and a cracking breakfast. Clean comfortable room with en-suite, tv and fridge which can be a rarity. Very convenient for what we wanted and free parking. Would definitely recommend and happily revisit next time we are down that way

Me and my daughter stayed for just one night as we were going on the Gavin&Stacey tour. We found it easily, the accommodation was excellent and the people very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Also, very good value and great location for what we required.

Searched and found this guest house on booking.com. Lucy was very welcoming and helpful, showing us the lay of the land with regards to the sea front and pleasure beach. It’s a great location for all the amenities around Barry Island. Room was clean and tidy with an on suite, beds were very comfortable. Free breakfast with the room price which was excellent, my grandson gave it a 20 out of ten. Thank you Lucy & Lyndon for your hospitality.

We finally got around to using our one night Smartbox stay and found Gail’s guest house. We enjoyed our stay in room 3; the room was a decent size, tastefully decorated, exceptionally clean, well furnished, fridge in room and even equipped with a 40+ inch TV! Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. En-suite was a decent size. Plenty of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, etc. available at breakfast with hot food cooked to order, which you put in the night before. Lyndon and Lucy were very friendly and professional. Location is very good; a few minutes walk down the train station, and 10 mins to Barry sea front. There’s a nice coastal walk along Jackson’s bay, which starts only a few minutes walk away. Be careful when parking as there are several parking permit zones near Gail’s. It is, however, possible to park between zones, or a short stroll away from the guest house. Lyndon was happy to confirm that we had parked outside these zones. We would return when next staying in Barry, and would recommend it to others.

Lovely guest house where we were made to feel very welcome. Lucy was really friendly and our stay was great. Super comfortable bed and everything you’d need for a visit. Really close to the train station and Barry Island attractions. Excellent value for money and a tasty breakfast. Would recommend to anyone.

The guest house took full payment from my card details on booking.com the day before check out. Then messaged me the day of check out saying they will never do that! As a woman travelling on my own with a child I feel completely taken advantage of. When confronted the man running it said “sorry you feel that way” the classic non apology given by selfish people. Our stay was completely ruined by the greed of the people running the place, shame on you
