Nothing to fault in our Sunday lunch for 8 people. The meals were generous and served hot with properly cooked veg. (7 varieties), Yorkshire pudding and plenty of hot gravy. The desserts were also very good.

Always the best place to dine and drink in the area. First class, friendly, service and atmosphere. Great prices. Wonderful location with superb views from outside during the summer months.

This was not our first visit, unfortunatly we were not impressed this time,I could not fault food at all. We ordered the beef and requested horseradish sauce, they had run out!! we then ordered coffee which was only instant coffee, the coffee machine was out of order,we were,nt informed of this until it arrived, and was presented with 1/4 of a tea spoon of suger, and was told thats all they had, after complaining that we could not drink it like that some was found. We found the pub very cold to the point of being uncomfortable. Very disappointing.

I would 100% recommend the food here! There was a party of 15 people and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed every meal! Highly recommend the ribeye Steak it was delicious and cooked to perfection! The burgers (chicken and beef) were so juicy and melted in your mouth. All meals were cooked perfectly and can’t wait to come and visit again! The chef did an outstanding job ?‍? and the desserts and a must! ? The staff there was very accommodating and welcoming and they were more than happy to help with anything! Warm, friendly atmosphere. 11/10

first time here and when the five of us arrived we were the only ones there which surprised us as it was early afternoon. When we were given the menu we were surprised at the variation and by the end of the meal we were totally hooked. The staff were brilliant and the food was amazing. As we live quite locally we will be back as often as we can. Thank you all for a brilliant afternoon

Always a great meal here. They only take cash, but it's worth it as the prices are very reasonable, even in these challenging financial times. Always best to call and book. Lovely food, great portion sizes and the chips are delicious. It is not your modern and furnished chain restaurant no, but more a cosy, remote and homely-feeling place set on the mountain with great views. Always friendly and helpful staff, keen to get your food order taken promptly to get it cooking - not a bad thing. We took our baby and they had a high chair ready for us too.Worth a visit! Support this local and independent pub!Parking: Car park around the back. You need to drive through the gap. Other option is to park on the road side. We've never had any issues

Pre booked Sunday lunch Couldn’t get a drink for ages due to people picking up take aways who seemed to be put before anyone else . Most basic Prawn cocktail , just one small lettuce leaf with prawns and some very watery mArie rose sauce and nothing else. (Very bland) Main course was nice, veg a bit on tepid side but taste was good Desserts overpriced Staff were pleasant Wouldn’t rush back

This is the perfect traditional Sunday Lunch pub venue but I was particularly impressed with the vegetarian option which was the best veggie Sunday lunch I've had in 40 years! Home made chestnut Wellington, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, roast carrots and parsnips, peas, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pud, stuffing, and rich vegetarian gravy. All served in a friendly, relaxed family atmosphere by a hard working waiting staff. My only niggle was the coffee machine wasn't working but honestly, the food was so good I really didn't mind! Definitely recommend this lovely old pub but you will need to book because it's understandably popular.

Haven't been here for years and couldn't believe how busy it was. Glad we reserved a table. Food was really good and great portion sizes. Will definitely revisit
