Amazing weekend at the Great House. Rooms are lovely with amazing 'rainfall' showers. I did walk into the bed frame a few times, though... ?The breakfast choices were good, not excessive, that you can't choose. The food was fresh and very nice. I particularly enjoyed the Eggs Florentine & Welsh Breakfast. The service was excellent ??They helped organise a large group booking for Sunday Roast, answered any questions, booked taxis, dealt with a wedding party, etc. And didn't appear to lose the will to live by the end of it all ? ? definitely an achievement.Would highly recommend.

Recently attended a friends wedding day and evening at this fabulous venue. It was absolutely perfect. Great atmosphere, ambiance and grounds. The staff were attentive and polite and the food and drink was first class. If your looking for an intimate and classy venue for your wedding then look no further

We stayed at this hotel last night and ate at the restaurant of this hotel the staff were so lovely freindly and helpful the meal was incredible my only little disappointment was my husband wanted cheese and biscuits but we were told they had no cheese that's ridiculous for a Welsh restaurant but I would definitely go back and do recommend you try it .

We got married at the Great House Hotel in Sept 2023. Elinor helped us plan our day. Her advice, guidance and experience was invaluable. The day was just perfect, staff were excellent, professional and just couldn’t do enough for us and our guests. For those who stayed, the rooms were also excellent. Everyone commented on the excellent standard of the wedding breakfast and buffet. We were recommended the Great House by friends who had also had an excellent experience, we were so fortunate they did. The hotel, the team led by Elinor was just outstanding. Thank you so much ??

Beautiful Regal Suite with a few classy touches and cosy throws & pillows - beautiful bathroom and a delicious, sumptuous, quality breakfast - highly recommended for a short stay needs Spa facilities to induce me to stay longer. Worth a visit.

Quaint old venue in the village of Laleston. Was there for a wedding evening. Not a large venue... but ideal for a smaller ceremony.

We decided on having our wedding at the Great House Hotel as we wanted an intimate celebration with our immediate family and friends. From the first meeting to the very end it didn't disappoint. Elinor and her team accommodated every request we asked and some at very short notice. She coordinated everything before the day and was a brilliant MC for the day. Everything went like clockwork. The wedding breakfast was absolutely fantastic with everyone commenting on how wonderful the food was. It was definitely worthy of Michelin stars in our eyes. The rooms were decorated perfectly and our flowers from Florrie & Jo and our cake from Centre Stage Cakes were wonderful. Entertainment provided by Lee Jukes from Bridge FM made the evening amazing too. We are so happy that we chose the Great House as our wedding venue as we could not have picked a better place. Thanks so much. Love David and Claire Davies.

A good overnight stay. Room spacious. Nice new bathroom but very poor water pressure. Food at dinner excellent but only us and another couple in a large spartan dining room so lacked ambience. Corridors a bit tired and need decorating. Breakfast Nice enough but nothing special. Very reasonably priced. No real complaints and would consider staying there again.

Went here for a wedding and it’s a beautiful old place. The staff were absolutely first class. All young but extremely professional and friendly. An absolute credit to the place. The food was second to none, absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully presented.

We booked a deal with OPL for 3 nights. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price. The room was a good size (room 8) and comfortably furnished. We slept exceptionally well, which is unusual for myself, as I often take a night before I sleep soundly. We slept like logs from the first night. The bathroom was a great size, although it did have a few eccentricities. I love a long soak when I have time to myself, but the water pressure is extremely low and it took the best part of 45 minutes to fill. As for the shower, my husband had to run around to get wet! Breakfast was superb. Top quality produce, served piping hot. A great choice too, and all included. The evening meals were delicious. All cooked to order, there was an average wait of about half an hour, but you were well rewarded for your patience. Both chefs were absolute craftsmen and on 2 evenings we were treated to a little extra while we were waiting. All the staff are great. The manager is hands on and leads a very friendly, professional and motivated young team. We look forward to visiting again.
