Went here for Xmas ? dinner absolutely outstanding food and service All staff were very bubbly friendly, Considering it was also their Christmas too Would definitely recommend it Looking forward to next Christmas We are going to bring all our family members Thank you to the watermill team

We decided to go here for Xmas dinner this year as we’ve never really had a bad Sunday dinner here … The Xmas dinner was absolutely awful it was nothing like we usually had from there We weren’t even able to stay long enough to really spend ‘family time’ as we were rushed by the time we’d finished our last mouthful of starters our main was in front of us and same with dessert we had no time to just relax . the starter was awful it was prawn and salmon cocktail and it seemed as though the fish was defrosting on the salad as it was covered in water the cooked dinner was cold and our dessert was a toffee apple dish and it was stuck to the plate where it was reheated Extremely disappointed as when we booked the table the slot said 2 and half hours we were in and out within the hour and it cost £60 pp so felt totally ripped off and it ruined the feeling of Xmas dinner spent with family

Called with a friend on Tuesday early evening (19/12/23) to a very cheerful reception. The place was 'cosy' in Christmas decor, warm and welcoming. The young lady who served us and took our orders was really lovely and made us feel very comfortable. We ordered a gammon steak and an Atlantic cod, and both were absolutely spot on. The gammon was a porper steak, not a thin slice from a packet, the fish was the length of the plate and it was all beautiful. I even had my egg cooked the way I like it - and I'm very particular about my eggs! I had visited for the first time last year and I'm so glad I remembered about the place. I will be back far sooner than last time! Excellent. 5 stars!

This is the third time i have had food in the watermill and i think it just get's better , the food is fantastic and the staff are brilliant , no long wait for the food to arrive my wife and i were on our own tonight but last week there were 12 family members and we had exactly the same service , brilliant just brilliant .

Myself and my husband had the cod and chips not many chips on the plate but the cod was absolutely stunning didn’t know that dogs were allowed will definitely be returning thankyou .

This place is slightly out the way but it is worth travelling to. The food is very tasty. I would recommend the cheese bites starter. The steak was one of the nicest I have eaten out. It was done perfectly to my liking. Wonderful place to celebrate my birthday. It's just a shame you can't take away desserts as I couldn't have eaten one there. Staff were busy but still friendly and helpful even though they looked short staffed. Will definitely be back

Arrived after 8 only to be told that food had stopped. Asked for coffee but the machine was broken. If we wanted tea they'd have to boil the kettle. Got the feeling that they couldn't be bothered. So we couldn't be bothered spending over the odds for poor hospitality
Huge thanks for the team on finding us a table today during a busy Saturday lunchtime! We had 3 children’s meals fab value and choice we had sausage, dippers and pasta! All well received and finished off with desserts which were only priced at £1.50 absolute bargain! Our first choices for mains were not available due to no bread/rolls being delivered. As a back up ordered loaded chips, enjoyed eating but thought they could’ve been warmer and partner had curry but the restaurant wouldn’t accommodate half n half- had to order as a side if wanted both! Pleasant Saturday lunch, not sure what’s happened with kids park but would be good to have that back for some entertainment when waiting for food!

I was in the area with my partner, 2 year old step son and puppy. We decided last minute to pop in for some lunch. We sat outside and although there was a QR code on the table at the bar, it did not have options for sandwiches etc (which it did on the physical menu) therefore we ordered at the bar. The man behind the counter was utterly miserable. I understand staff get fed up at times but we were nothing but polite. Anything we wanted to order seemed too much for him. Not forgetting they had run out of baguettes, jacket potatoes and chilli. We finished our order and wanted to add a fruit shoot for the little one, and again this seemed too much. I asked for water for the dog as all the bowls outside were empty. He informed us this was for us to fill the bowls with a tap at the side of the house. We sat outside in the sunshine with our drinks, as the location cannot be faulted. Another order came out and as we were speaking with the table next to us, they did not hear the order being called. The waitress then said ‘I did call you’ in a very patronising tone, which mirrored staff indoors. When our order came (I ordered a starter Mac and cheese), I was shocked by the size of the dish. It was small than my iPhone. I understand it was a starter however it cost £8 and was not worth that!!! My partners chicken was also incredibly dry. Whilst sitting eating our food, a large group of around 10 people entered the beer garden. As the largest table consisted of 4 chairs, they started to move some tables together in the shaded area. The same female waitress came outside and told them they were not allowed to move the tables. The website states the venue accommodates large groups however this is clearly not the case. They ended up sitting in smaller groups which was very poor service. We will NOT be returning. There are far better restaurants in the area that will be receiving our custom in the future.

It was a nice day and I would have liked to sit outside but I need to sit in the shade. Only one umbrella in the none smoking area catering for about 4 tables. No umbrellas in the smoking area where I would have sat as I vape. Ordered a baked potato but later told they had none so had to reorder. Food OK, nothing special on the menu. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good parking near the restaurant. Went elsewhere for dessert so we could sit outside.
