Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Angie and Charlie were perfect hosts and could not do enough to be helpful. The rooms are unique and the breakfast perfect. We stayed in the Dudley room and we’re perfectly comfortable. Great location even if a little difficult to find.

You will not be disappointed. A very special place. This magnificent country house is both a home and a wonderful venue to stay to visit Denbigh or North Wales. The rooms are very large and delightfully furnished. The breakfast room is splendid and a real luxurious touch that you will always remember. The hosts are great fun with a breakfast second to none. It does not seem fair to call it 'just' a B&B! But it is the views that that take your breath away with the House perched high on a cliff, safely inside the historic Town Walls. We stayed three days in a lovely clean and magnificent country home, staying in the main house, walking local valleys, rivers woods and visiting the local Welsh Towns. Denbigh, Ruthin, LLanrwst, Conway, LLandudno, Moel Famau and the Denbigh Moors (a must) are well worth a visit and within easy reach. An idilic location. Highly recommended. 99% of reviews cannot be wrong!

Firstly please ignore the rare negative reviews, which say more about the reviewers than the place they stayed. We have no connection with the owners but they simply do not deserve such vitriol. We were actually looking for accommodation closer to Snowdonia but nothing was available so chose to spend six nights at the Castle House instead. We really liked Denbigh - a pleasant and non-touristy town - and managed to fill our days travelling in various directions to visit country houses, gardens, the coast and go on several walks. However it is quite a long cross-country drive into the national park. Castle House is a magnificently solid period stone house with three wonderfully spacious ensuite bedrooms on the first floor named Dudley, Stanley and Gee. We were in the former, which boasts a massive four-poster bed and extraordinary views across the valley from both the room itself and the bathroom. There is a fourth room available called Fazakerly but this is much smaller with little natural light. The property is exceptionally quiet at night and we slept so well on what appeared to be a memory foam type mattress. Breakfast is served in a brilliantly ornate dining room and is the kind of place where you tend to interact with other guests, spurred on by a voluble host. The owners are keen to accommodate guest requests and we enjoyed a variety of cooked breakfasts. On the final day we asked to be surprised and they duly did so by serving up something that I mentioned only in passing when we first arrived. Outside the house is a large wooden garden table and sun loungers which we made use of on a couple of occasions. Although I would heartily recommend the Castle House as a place to stay, it would be remiss of me not to touch on the price of the accommodation. We paid £180 per night, which was slightly more than the fabulous Hotel Indigo in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon we'd just come from and considerably dearer than the roughly EUR 100 per night highly-rated rooms in Slovenia and Austrian hotels we were supposed to be staying in before the outgoing flight got cancelled. So sorry Charlie and Angie, your B&B is wonderful but it is a lot of money for an old house where occasionally things go wrong.

Disappointing stay here. Booked 4 nights here mid September for 2 professional couples as we were looking for some down time during our annual leave. Firstly the cottage was not upto cleanliness standards, and nowhere near the covid standards set out on air B&B, but we moved past this as we weren’t looking to spend a lot of time inside, rather spending it outside exploring the local countryside and walking mount snowdon. We had issues with the water in the bathroom as a heavily rusted water pipe burst. The host said he wasn’t prepared to fix this until we left. Upon checkout we were asked to pay another £93 as there was 4 of us staying, and not 1 person. At no point during booking or throughout our stay was an extra payment mentioned. We paid a price for the whole cottage that sleeps 4 so very disappointed that we had to make another payment. Very unhappy with our stay here - we were treat differently as we were 2 young couples. As mentioned before we weren’t looking to ‘party’ just enjoy our time away. This experience has left a bad taste on our holiday, but we did enjoy beautiful country side and exploring snowdonia. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, there was plenty of other places that we saw on our travels that looked absolutely stunning

The place was immaculately cleaned, and staff very welcoming. Put well at ease by the sanitisation. Very well located and staff made us aware of beautiful places to visit locally. Have and will highly recommend this place to stay to anyone wanting a lovely staycation in North Wales.

This place is vile! The staff are rude & ignorant. The manager is even worse! Avoid this place!! I wouldn’t let my dog stay here! Dirty, old, tatty and in need of a decent cleaner! Food was sub standard & cold. Waited 45 minutes between courses & no apology from the rude manager! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

I find this B&B host to be phobic and discriminatory. AVOID there are more hospitable and non-bigotry establishments in the area, better stilk head to Ruthin, Bodelwyddan where you can stay in real castles. Host is rude, ill-mannered and seriously non deserving of any rating. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Stayed here at the beginning of September 2021 . What a little gem. Beautiful house very comfortable and welcoming. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Would definitely recommend Also has its own part of the town wall to walk. Part of the old castle ruins

This was my second stay at Castle House B&B, both times travelling on my own for weekend pottery courses. I stayed in the Fazakerly room, (small double) which was perfect for a lone guest, beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished and equipped with everything I could need and more, including hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and a gorgeous fluffy dressing gown. It all felt very cosy! The first time I stayed it was during restrictions, and a delightful continental breakfast was served in my room. This time however things were back to normal and I enjoyed a wonderful cooked Welsh breakfast (the cold selection was also beautiful) all served in the magnificent dining room. Wonderful! Host Angie is lovely, and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended, I will definitely return!
