I have always liked Ask in Cardiff… so this time I phoned to reserve a table. Their phone system was a truly horrible automated booking thing. Why couldn’t I speak to a real person?!!! Who thought that having customers speak to a machine was a good idea? Well done to the Ask management… you really fell for that sales pitch! A restaurant is all about the service you give to your customers, and that starts with first contact. If I want to speak to a machine I’ll phone the Inland Revenue. I hung up and booked our party in elsewhere ?

The food was lovely and the portions are good but the service is what really stands out. Our party was served by Callum who was very friendly, attentive and incredibly thorough in explaining the allergen guide. Checked on us to make sure everything was good throughout. Overall a positive experience, would recommend.
