Usually avoid Bella Italia like plague, but we were really hungry and couldn't find anything nearer to where we were staying. Booked online but waited, along with another group, for about 10 mins manager to come to door, despite only about 3 small groups inside!We ate the food (hungry) but it wasn't nice. Except for pine nuts (not fresh pasta, (nor sauce? or poor chef?). At least my homemade pesto tastes of basil etc. Waitress was attentive.Oddly, we noticed that we, along with all other customers of colour & an LBGT couple, were seated in a raised floor area on one side of restaurant and all white couples/groups were seated in the main floor on opposite side restaurant. Not a problem for us, but not the "cardiff" that I know..

This place is as Italian as a jar of dolmio sauce. In fact, dolmio tastes better. Expensive prices for cheap tasteless food. If you want real Italian food, go to Italian Way in Canton, same prices but with high quality delicious food.

Lyn our server was excellent. So warm and friendly and accommodating. She really made up for the under par bolognese which basically had very little bolognese sauce so just spaghetti with a little sauce.

I know you don’t expect amazing food in a chain restaurant but the food was very basic and tasteless. I had meatballs for start which tasted like they had come out of a tin, bolognese for my main which was tasteless and watery followed by cookie dough which tasted like a cereal bar.

6 empty tables. Got told we had to book, so we went outside and phoned to book. There was our booking for 10 mins time. Still had 6 empty tables. Got to the door, was told a further 10 mins wait. We cancelled our booking then went nextdoor as a walk-in. Still had 6 empty tables 2 hours later when we left nextdoor.

We had the loveliest time. We walked in, no booking, but we were made to feel immediately welcomed and like we were no trouble. Lyn was so personable throughout the evening, we had so much fun with her. Food was delicious, service was attentive and quick, we were so happy we went. Thank you for looking after us so well!
