2 Haddock and chips , fish very dry (overcooked), also mushy peas had no taste, staff friendly but unusual for fish not to be cooked properly. Hopefully a blip as usually very good from here.

right i love chips infact im in love with chips. i decided to go on a little trip around cardiff collecting and trying to see which is the best chip shop but this wellfeild rd didnt lead up to expectations in fact i was very sad when they told me they were out of irish curry sauce i was hurt the chips took about 5 mins to cook and i had to go with the gravy im hurt physically hurt. penylan fishbar did me very nice so. heres my message to you wellfeild chip shop ill be coming soon. on the 29th of april at 7;00pm ill be there on the dot i want the chips flowing nice and the irish curry sauce better be led to perfection see you there

Very disappointed with my meal of aubergine lasagne. Tiny amount, tasteless and unappealing visually. Not cheap either. However, hubby really enjoyed his meat dish as usual. Definitely geared up for non vegans. Staff were lovely and helpful. I won't shop there again but hubby loves it.

Amazing Christmas lunch...A friend recommended Cook Christmas 'bundles', following his purchase for a large family meal last year.We ordered the meal for 8, even though only 5 in our party, as we didn't know portion sizes & wanted to ensure we had enough food. There was enough food for 8 very hungry diners. It was very tasty, simple to prepare and great value for money, the nicest 'pre packed' turkey I have eaten - I will order every year. Thanks 'Cook'

Absolutely tasty food, it’s frozen but tastes fresh.Will be ordering more meals.Only reason I didn’t score 5 stars was because when I placed my order and paid my bill for my food to come the following day, an hour later I had a call to say my food would be delivered a day later, ok lovely, the food delivery was suppose to be within a 1 hr allocated time, which meant it would have been here for my meal time, unfortunately it didn’t turn up, I rang the company 1hr after my delivery should have been here and was told it would be much later, so yes that did annoy me as I’m disabled and unable to cook meals for myself.After eventually tasting 1 meal the following day, the company have redeemed themselves!

I like Cook, the meals are all very "home made" and hugely tasty.A little more ££ than a supermarket but definitely worth it
It's a very basic place but is always open and therefore it's easy to find yourself there. The attitude is bad though. Food basic, doesn't accept cards and I go elsewhere if anywhere else is open.

I asked what ingredients were in their chips and they were so rude and disrespectful. I can’t eat pea protein and it’s a common ingredient in some chips these days. Instead of listen to me and just check they started talking about how they use mushy peas in the kitchen. I said that’s fine I’m not ordering those and I’m aware of that, they then starting talking about gluten?! I can have gluten and never even mentioned it?! They continued to ignore my request to check anything for me and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and humiliated in front of other customers to the point I left. In this day and age with so many intolerances and allergies a request to check basic ingredients should be met. No one should be ridiculed and made to feel like I did in their shop because of an allergy that I can’t not help. Awful service!!!

Amazing food! I was recommended to Cook by a friend and didn’t realise really how good it is, I would eat this instead of going out for a meal. When I went in the staff were very helpful, suggesting what I could have with my meals and they even have pudding too! Lemon posset is delicious. Friendly and warm service and I will shop here again.

Food is good. Good prices. The only draw back is there is 1 assistant that refuses to take cash for payment. Company policy according to her.All the other members of staff ive dealt with are lovely. No problem with cash payments.Im marking 3* because of the 1 member of staff that eventually took the cash then passed my change and sarcastically said here's your change, have i good day. She was lucky I didn't react.I think its because she too slack to go to a bank to get change, the other ladies do obviously as there is never a problem. I'd give 4* but shes spoilt it
