Took my wife and son here recently for a birthday meal. Portions were generous and tasted great. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. I will definitely be coming here again. Great location and view of the Millennium Centre. The restaurant have a great selection of cocktails and beers.Kid-friendliness: Staff engaged with our son and when he wasn't interested in his food they offered to change it which wasn't necessary in the end.

Took my wife there today for a nice impromptu meal together, the waiter to be fair was great, but the fare was very poor, clearly pre-cooked food not cooked on site, was told couldn't have dauphinoise potatoes as the didn't have any sauce delivered.. really? Not hard to make. Ordered crab cakes for starter, very disappointing little potato breaded rounds that had no crab (that I could taste) in them, my wife had a poor spaghetti bolognaise with no parmesan offered, we didn't bother with dessert and went to cadwalladers instead for dessert and coffee (very good) no wonder Demiro's was empty.. people obviously know what we didn't. Won't bother going there again... a waste of £97.00.

Me and my partner went out for food and came across the restaurant, we’d never been before but we will definitely be coming again!the food was incredible but our waiter (i’m unsure of his name) was amazing. he was very friendly the second we walked through the door, we asked to sit outside and he triple checked that we were happy to sit outside as it was cold. he checked on us a few times whilst we waited for our food, and once he brought our food out, he noticed we were shivering cold, so he came back out with 2 fleece blankets for us and wrapped us in them instead of just handing them to us!we couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. service and food was beyond amazing

Drinks are so bad. Awful quality and expensive .. order 2 bottle beers and there were £5.50 bit much seen as they’re not even pint. Also ordered a pins colada … bartender went out the back and came back with the drink … which I hate if you order a cocktail or any drink for that matter I expect it to be made in front of me. Drink was warm and didn’t taste any rum. Just not worth it at all. Real shame because it’s a great location

The looks of the place raised my hopes but was disappointed. Beer prices are high and are mainly lagers. There's two menus. A fixed price one with a selection of starters, main and desserts and sides as extras plus a full Al a carte. It was surprising to see the sides cheaper on the fixed menu than the main menu. I asked why this was but she couldn't answer. I asked if she could find out but she never did. I went Al a carte. Starter disappointing. Crab cakes...didn't have a crab taste to it and was served with tartar sauce when a sweet chilli sauce might have been better. Main I had chicken breast stuffed with basil and mozzarella wrapped in parma ham served on spaghetti in a neopolitan style sauce with spinach and a side of garlic mushrooms. There was just three bits of spinach in dish which was disappointing but they did bring out some more wilted spinach for me to add to the dish. Couldn't taste or see the basil or mozzarella in the chicken. Was told it was because the cheese had melted. I stated that the basil would still be evident and the cheese although melted would leave a soft stringy substance behind but non was evident inside the chicken breast. I appreciate cheese melts when cooked, I've cooked several recipes but i still got evidence of cheese when served. The mushrooms sides was charged at the main menu price but was worth it. A good sized portion, not in breadcrumbs but fresh mushrooms tossed in garlic to taste not to.ovrr power. I finished the chicken and left the mushrooms to last and tossed them in the remaining spaghetti which turned out very tasty.

We were 2 couples staying 2 nights in Cardiff city centre. We went down to Mermaids Quay in the late afternoon and saw Demiro's when walking by. First impressions on entering were great. We were greeted by friendly staff who told us about their food (for our gluten free member) and the entertainment starting at 6pm and we were so impressed that we booked a table for 6pm the same evening. Everything, including the singer, was fantastic, so good that we booked again for the following evening! Margaret the owner knows how to run a great establishment, we'd advise anyone to try Demiro's, the whole atmosphere is fantastic. TIP - The owner also has a Spanish restaurant only 4 miles away in Penarth where we went for lunch the day of leaving. The food was fantastic, perfectly served and all of the waiters knew their stuff

The food was excellent, the staff attentive and helpful, and the price (£17.95 for three generous courses) fantastic. Lovely to see an independent restaurant amongst the corporate ones now dominating Cardiff Bay.

We always walk past this place as we figure it’s just another tourist trap establishment But for some reason, we figured we would give it a go tonight How glad were we that we did Decor is like a 60s cabaret joint Staff were amazing Initially struggled to confirm what the “Welsh Lager” was, but they went above and beyond to find out Food was far better than we initially thought it was going to be Even the missus said she was impressed with the chips and she’s not a chips fan Here’s the clincher We were not expecting Leighton the singing waiter OMG - this lad has a voice on him Absolutely lit the place up and had everyone on their feet For a Sunday evening, we were absolutely entertained

Me and my partner came across this l lovely place whilst we were on holiday in Cardiff and cannot recommend it enough. We arrived just as The Singing Waiter was starting and he was incredible and it really added to the atmosphere of the place. The food was beautiful and the theatre-esque theme was a lovely touch. Should we ever return to Cardiff we will absolutely go again. A truly marvellous restaurant. It would be an excellent place to eat before going to see a show. 10/10.

Restaurant seemed to have a nice buzz then reality kicked in. Service started off well then once we had our mains there was no service. Plates weren’t cleared, no offer of more drinks, desserts or coffees; after 30 minutes we paid and left. Food was at best below average and don’t bother with sides. Stingy and therefore expensive. £4 for a few bad chips. Never again.

Poor!! Staff were rude, unattentive, they served meals over your head and from the edge of the table and we had to pass things down like a canteen. We arrived for our pre theatre meal and had table booked for 10 for 5.45pm. Our mains came after asking and prompting and being told "yeah we know you're going to the theatre" at 7.08 leaving most of us without finishing the meal. Never again will I go here .... however seasonal veg was 2 tiny chantenay carrots and nothing else..poor !! The host at the door wouldnt help at all and told me to "find a waiter as she sees us in and out " shocking and we will not be returning.

We have dined here many times in the past before going to a show in the WMC. Never have we had an experience like last night, and not in a good way. We arrived prompt at 5.45 half our part were already seated. Waiter came over pretty quickly and took drinks orders. Two of us said we had allergies and needed to check, I was told there are no nuts in the restaurant, after a few minutes he returned with an allergy sheet for the other lady, she loaned it to me and it showed that Welsh faggots contained peanuts/nuts. Odd. We ordered starters and mains and said we'd order dessert if time allowed. I forgo starters in favour of dessert. Starters arrived quite quickly and all looked delicious. All finished theirs quickly and table cleared, we then waited 45 minutes for our mains, our organiser finally at 6.50pm asked where our mains were as we only had 15 minutes now to eat them. Finally at 7.15 they arrived , we now had 10 minutes to eat and run to the theatre. The others managed sadly I had to leave 3/4 of mine. I can only say the 3 mouthfuls of penne formaggio I had were tasty but not worth the money we paid. They also overcharged us for the starter I didn't have. We had to ask 3 times for the bill but luckily we still checked it. We will not be returning, I have no idea how the other mains dishes were enjoyed by everyone else as they were too busy bolting their food to get to the theatre. Service was diabolical. Many diners had no food in front of them ,so waiters excuse that "everyone came at once " didn't hold water. This advertises it serves pre show dinners, it always did BUT we always had good food served in a timely manner and often a singing waiter or waitress. Nothing like the experience last night.

We were recommended to give it a try on a recent stay in Cardiff Bay. We had already eaten at a different restaurant two nights before and wanted to try something else. We were hesitant about trying Demiro's as it looked so large inside, but looking at menu outside, we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! We both had the calamari starter which was a huge improvement on the one we had at the other restaurant. My husband followed that with a rack of lamb and I plumped on the fillet steak with gorgonzola sauce. They were both delicious, although the gorgonzola sauce could have been a little stronger. Half way through our meal we were treated to a singing waiter with a beautiful voice who serenaded the room with Italian songs and opera arias. We would certainly return there on our next visit to Cardiff and definitely recommend it.

Went there on a Friday at 7.30 for my bday with around 10 friends, wasn’t sure what to expect because the reviews were so mixed so I was kinda worried initially. honestly, loved it so much. I was worried it would be awkward but the freakin’ waiter dude started singing and providing entertainment for us!!!!?? We were so shocked and confused but he was super interactive and had everyone singing and joining in. I was so impressed, and everyone left talking about it for ages because it was so fun. The singer was singing casual to opera and it was super fascinating!!! I recommend coming here!!!! It’s super worth it, food was great too!Vegetarian options: I am Muslim so I was avoiding any meat, and they had plenty of options that were VG friendly, and even some normal dishes were able to become VG should you need it to, so nobody missed out!!!:)
