Sadly it was just good and for us it was the weakest Michelin Restaurant we experienced. Dry sage leaves were put in almost every meal, which I’m not a fan, and it was a lot of salt. And don’t get me wrong I do like salt, but I was thinking that every plate will give me something new, and after mainly salty taste everywhere I was thinking that maybe it’s a preparation for really sweet dessert, but apple variation wasn’t really sweet, which make me sad about whole experience. You might think that dark atmosphere is nice, but it makes food look less colourful, less sexy and less vibrant - which influence your experience imo. Maybe cover eyes dinner would work better.Plus for fresh truffles which you can buy if you want and for interesting and diverse tableware.Nice and eloquent waiter.Intimate atmosfer which just few tables.

An absolutely amazing place. The food is delectible, the team are awesome. Definitely give it a try, you will not be disappointed. Thank you ?

Home is second to none. I have never experienced such intimacy in a restaurant. James and his staff were so thoughtful and their knowledge of the food and wine, very commendable. You could see the food being prepared in the open kitchen. No rushing, no panicking, just mellow. James made us feel like he had known us for ages. A massive thumbs up from us both.

Had a wonderful meal here for my mum's 70th. The food was excellent, the welcome and service warm and friendly. The décor was very stylish, a really relaxed atmosphere to enjoy such high quality food.

Sublime and excellent for vegans. Fine dining of the best kind, posh with no pretentiousness.Dietary restrictions: Great flexibility for vegans, just leave a note on the booking form

We absolutely loved Home, our first visit to this gem in Penarth. 8-course taster menu, accompanied by appetisers, bread and a cheese board was excellent. The chicken, cod and desert courses especially stood out.The small restaurant provides an intimacy and calmness rarely experienced in other restaurants, with an open kitchen visible to all. I now get why it’s called ‘Home’.James provided friendly chat and explanations to each course, while staff were friendly and attentive. Any fears of a stuffy or pretentious atmosphere were quickly quashed and the entire evening was just pure enjoyment.A Welsh chef, plenty of Welsh produce, on the outskirts of the Welsh capital, what’s not to love?

A one of a kind experience in the area. Everything is elevated through attention and consideration: welcome, comfort, service and of course cooking. Highly recommended, naturally: Home is impeccable.

One of the best eating experiences I've ever had (apart from the last time I was there)Kid-friendliness: Not the place to bring children for dinner

Clearly the best dining experience of my life. We went there for a 50th pre rugby match. The food was a total knockout. The flavour experience was just mind blowing. Plus the passion on show from the staff made the whole episode so enjoyable. I will definitely return for more of the same. I'd pay twice the cost for the experience I had. Plus, do not forego the cheese course. Epic! ?

A proper treat! We went for lunch (4 courses) as a Christmas treat and we enjoyed every part of our visit. The food, the staff, the experience of the restaurant, watching the food being prepared and eating it! Everything is thoughtful and the focus is on giving us a lovely experience. The team are friendly, put us at ease and had some lovely conversations with us around our courses. You can add additional courses - so we were offered the addition of a truffle based course and the cheese course (we couldn’t manage the cheese course but the range of cheeses to choose from was impressive). We loved the focus on celebrating seasonal and local food - and just the magic they make with food. A wonderful experience and a proper treat! Thank you! I hope to come back again!
