I'd heard good things about the Sunday lunch at North Star and fancied a change from a carvery!My family and I booked a table with ease.In the group we had Beef Sunday roasts and Chicken and I was SO pleasantly surprised! Way, way more than a typical pub Sunday Lunch! The food was simply stunning and perfectly presented. Not sure I'll ever go anywhere else when fancying a Sunday roast! So much food and for such a reasonable cost!The service was quick and effortless!Highly recommend!

Friendly clean safe pub on the outskirts of the city and in a student area. Lovely staff, plenty of room, reasonable prices and great food with fair portions.Outside area with benches and lots of events like quizzes and live music. Pool table and TV's for sports.Been here a number of times and love it.Vegetarian options: There's vegetarian burger, jackfruit baguette and a very imaginative salad bowl.Parking: No car park and surrounding streets busy so you have to drive around a bit to find a space.

Cracking pub. Karaoke on Sundays. Pool tables. Darts. Good selection of beers and wines. Jukebox. Couple sofas. Can't comment on food as only ever drank here. Attentive staff.

From the moment my family and I arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome from the extremely polite and friendly staff. The welcome extended to our pooch, she was given 5 star treatment with her own dog bed and treats. The bar was well stocked with drink choices for all tastes including an array of non alcoholic beer options and were brought to our table. The Sunday lunch menu had a good selection of meat and vegetarian dishes that was not only unique and competitively priced but also (we unanimously agreed) probably one of the best lunches we'd had in living memory. In summary nothing was to much trouble, the pub was immaculate and the food and drinks were delicious, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the North Star, we'll certainly be returning at our next opportunity... Thank you for such a lovely experience!"

We came here for my birthday lunch and as ever it was superb, with excellent service, big tasty portions of Sunday roast. Starters were also beautifully cooked and delicious. Dave was fantastic and made sure we were having a good time. I absolutely 100% recommend the North Star.

Solo Sunday visit to The North Star Lovely warm greeting Delicious Sunday Roast with many veg Yorkshire pud and beautifully cooked pork with crispy cracking . The service would be the envy of many a top end restaurant .Very reasonable cost and a warm thank you from the host on my exit .. Superp !!
We went to the North Star for a family members birthday and all i can say was both the service and the food were extremely disappointing. I ordered a burger as i though you cant mess a burger up too badly. How wrong was I. The first burger to come out was not just over cooked it was burnt on both sides so i sent it back and asked for another. The second one came out which somehow managed to be both burnt and raw so it went back again. By this time everyone else had finished eating and i didn't feel like giving them a third chance to disappoint me so I just told them to take it off the bill. After spending 2 hours in the pub i left hungry which was a shame as the food looked lovely. Chances are I would not return.

We visited for a Sunday lunch with 3 generations of our family.Absolutely outstanding Sunday lunch, thoroughly enjoyed by us all. So much food and excellent value for money.Super friendly, efficient and polite staff in a traditional pub atmosphere.Highly recommended!

Great food, good drinks and plenty of different things on during the week. You really can't fault this pub and its well priced. We love coming here for a Sunday lunch and our dog absolutely loves it too as he's always spoilt by Dave!

Me and my family have become locals of this fantastic Pub.With the outstanding Sunday dinners; I don't know what they do with the parsnips but they are absolutely lush. I hate hate hate parsnips but I find myself coming here just for them lol ?. And the pork? About the length of a 10 year old's arm! So good with the crackalin the hole way over, with the nicest tast of salt bliss. You would thing there's amazing meals would be quite expensive, but think again because a pork meal at only £10.5! With also a good gluten free meals! And on top of all that with kids meals and Desserts. The staff are always happy and friendly, and the entertainment is always great! That it why I come here so oftern and rate it a :⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.(And not to mention the pool table, Sunday Karaoke and ping pong table! )

Couldn’t recommend the North Star enough. There’s always a good selection of entertainment through the week, inc a pub quiz or cabaret.The Sunday lunch is always excellent quality and great value.The staff are always friendly and welcoming and make a real effort to engage with you whilst you’re there.The pub, also, is very dog friendly - they even came to the table to give a small portion of Sunday lunch to our dog when we were there. It was really kind of themand he really enjoyed it!Thanks for a lovely time!
