Dropped in for a drink on two occasions. We got a warm reception on both occasions. Reasonable range of drinks at a fair price. Lounge is a pleasant room. For a weekend it was very quiet.

We often visit on a Sunday lunchtime for the Carvery. The food is a very good standard and all the staff do their utmost to help.As a pub, it provides a great atmosphere and the landlord is very friendly.

Lad running bar lent me 4 quid, bless him. Had my wallet nicked at co-op. Came back 13 days later to repay him. He refused. I bought him a pint instead.

A friendly local pub, Dave was a great host when we visited the pub the previous day before we booked Sunday lunch especially following the 5 star reviews on trip adviser, we were not disappointed. At the carvery I chose the beef with my wife selecting the turkey and beef, with a good selection of vegetables we really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. We really enjoyed our visit to the Horse and Jockey, added to the tales of a mysterious ghost appearing around the pub, it’s well worth a visit to the pub, if you are in the area on a Sunday.

We called in mid-week for lunch. The owner said they didn't do lunchtime food. Very rude and then started swearing at one of the regular drinkers who didn't seem to mind as l expect they only like locals there.

Sunday carvery meats of Beef and turkey were exceptional the best meats you will find anywhere, the vegetables were well cooked and tasty. Great dessert options. We have decided to visit again we are in the region.

3 of us were on our way to meet some friends and were desperately trying to find somewhere for a bite to eat. Third time lucky we stumbled upon this little GEM. We were instantly welcomed by Dave and his wife, the food was insane not to mention £3 for a gin!! It was so good we stopped back in on our way home on the Sunday for a carvery - best. Decision. EVER!! It was full of locals which says it all, I would recommend this to anyone in the area!
Friends happened to pass this little gem on the way to a weekend in North Wales. Once they met us they raved at how brilliant the food, land lord and prices were and insisted we visited on our return home. We called and booked in for Sunday lunch, and it did not disappoint!! The Sunday roast was absolutely delicious and 2x courses for £14 was beyond incredible value for money! We had a choice of 2 meats which were both perfectly cooked and a great selection of vegetables which were all delicious. If you're nearby or in the area I highly recommend dropping in for a visit!
