Great atmosphere, fabulous setting.Attentive staff and super Sunday lunch.Very much enjoyed.A few little tweaks to the Sunday lunch and it would be worth 5*s.

We went for afternoon drink. Such a lovely character laid back atmosphere and outside space perfect for our children. We booked for evening meal the following day and were not disappointed, good food great value for moneyKid-friendliness: There is a safe play area

If you prefer a traditional Pub, this is the pub for you. Loads of atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff, a great range of fabulous beers. BUT, the best bit of all was the Sunday Roast. It was quite simply the best roast dinner I've had in years! Definitely going back...

Excellent Sunday lunch and very generous portions. Loved all the extra included bits on the side to pick and choose from. Dog friendly in one part and made to feel very welcome. Very characterful with lots to look at.

This pub is a true local treasure. The food is great, so is the selection of local beers and ciders. But it is the atmosphere and locality that truly makes this place so special. It is like stepping back in time, situated in the Preselis with gorgeous surroundings. Great for walks, a dip in the quarry, then food and a pint.Kid-friendliness: There is a lovely beer garden, and a local playground round the corner by a carpark.

Excellent, freshly prepared home made food.Lovely location and great service. The prices were not cheap, but pretty much what you expect these days. I guess if you want cheap, find a weatherspoons; this was quality grub in a fantastic pub/restaurant.

Great little pub. Surly older bartender whom I believe is the landlady but the younger staff are excellent and far more welcoming. Aforementioned landlady treats her Welsh guests with red carpet treatment but the English barely get a grunt, which is odd as without the English visitors it would have a very limited clientele and dubious viability like many places out here and they would do well to remember that. That being said the beers are generally well kept but on occasions they need to use the correct sparklers for their beers. The butty when it is on is very good provided they've attached the correct sparkler which doesn't always happen.

Google maps took us to this hidden little gem. Got to love an old school pub. Lovely selection of drinks and they slotted us in for food even thou we hadn't booked. The food was wonderful we had the fish and chips

Excellent food, pulled pork was the best I've ever had!Service was very good but don't go there in a rush. We weren't in a rush and had a lovely time but everything is fresh and they get busy so it can take a while for your food to arrive. It's worth the wait though.Great choice of drinks too.

I recently ate there last Saturday evening. I ordered gammon steak, egg, chips and beans and it was delicious. It did take around 40 mins or so to arrive at my table, but I don't know if it was just a case of them being busier than I thought?Julie and her staff were friendly and helpful and I'd definitely eat there again / recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting.

Great old pub.Zink building structure with sawdust on wooden floors. A real goldie oldie. The food was great and good selection of drinks.

Had a nice lamb burger with sweet potato fries. The staff were very nice. We will go again.

Great food. Be patient, all food cooked to order. Lovely garden. Dog friendly. Went there for lunch after a walk around the disused slate quarry, well worth it. We both had the Welsh Cawl. Parking free and plentiful. It's a bright red corrugated metal building and was the old station hotel. Lots of GWR memorabilia.

31/05/2023 our first visit to this lovely place. The staff were very helpful and the bacon roll was one of the best ever! Had a pot of tea for two and a nice pint of local ale. All reasonably priced. Would like to come back to try the Welsh Cawl. Diawn Diolch.
