Having a trip on the Fairbourne Railway I stumbled across this place. As a vegan I was expecting very little choice but they had a whole vegan menu!It was all reasonably priced, and the service was good.

I love this place and walk a few miles to visit. Nothing better than sitting outside having a pint in sunny weather. Great vegetarian food options and lovely staff too.

Unexpected lunch stop here before getting the cute train - and a more unexpected amazing vegan selection! Very tasty food and cozy friendly pub, thank you ?Vegetarian options: I had the vegan risotto which was great but wanted to try all the options! The kids enjoyed the veggie lasagne

Great food, good price, fresh and hot. Couldn't have asked for more.We sat for a late lunch of chicken and ham pies which were amazing. Then we had hot chocolate on a cold and wet winters days with the dog Infront of the fire. The dog received treats and a warm welcome from all.Lovely placeParking: Huge pay and display opposite

Convenient location opposite the beach and 5mins walk from the station. Sells Purple Moose Ales alongside usual drinks. Food is mainly no-frills traditional pub grub, arrives quickly and is decent quality.Nice wood-burner lit on cooler days and a pool table provides entertainment for the more active.TVs are usually showing old pop hits although the sound is set low enough to allow conversion. The place is friendly enough although lacking in atmosphere.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and Vegan options available (marked on menus)Parking: Parking available opposite pub. Pay & DisplayKid-friendliness: Kids & dogs welcomeWheelchair accessibility: No steps and wc's accessible

Loved this place. Had a meal there nearly every day. What ever we ordered was great ?

This is a great place. The food was delicious - I’d especially recommend the Welsh lamb burger. The drinks were good too. This place has a wood burner too, which is especially welcome after a long cycle ride. I’d recommend it!

Ended our family holiday here tonight for a meal out. Called earlier on the day to book, was told we didn't need to. Now we know why. Not busy at all. No good evening, hello welcome nothing. Tables sticky, not very clean. Walking past kitchen to go toilet, staff sitting on work surfaces etc, well I think they were staff. As everyone seemed to be wearing own clothes, no uniform. Food was good, but could be so much more. 5 young teenager looking staff behind bar, and at least 4/5 of the same in the kitchen. Why so many staff I'm not sure but the place could be amazing.

Very quiet for a half term - but food and incredible specials were delicious! Such good food & portions for a random spot! Well worth a visit with the family!

We visited today for lunch after a nice walk with our dog. The staff weren’t particularly welcoming, no smiley hello, one was just stood behind the bar looking at us whilst the other was on her phone. We ordered a couple of drinks and were impressed with the bar prices. We then ordered a cheese & bacon burger, a steak & ale pie and a side order of cheesy garlic bread. The food came out really quickly and was honestly faultless, really well cooked food. There was a nice atmosphere and the prices are great. I would recommend.

Great meal of Rump steak and all the trimmings, i had mine with chips and my wife had hers with a baked potato she said it was the best potato she had eaten in quite a while. All was cooked to perfection and was nice and hot. The chap behind the bar was very friendly although the waitress had a face like a bull dog chewing a wasp, she looked like she did not really want to be there in fact she did not utter a single word just plopped the plates on the table and scooted away, must of been having a bad day. All in all excellent.

A good option for a late meal when staying in Fairbourne or Friog. We arrived at 8.20pm and were served quickly with classic pub fare - burgers and chips all round! Portions are generous and staff were friendly and helpful despite us arriving right at the end of food service. Located a short walk from the beach, it's a great indoor alternative if the weather isn't good enough for fish and chips on the beach.Vegetarian options: Veggie options for every section of the menu.

One of the highlights of a trip to Fairbourne is a meal at the Penrhyn Bar and Grill. You can sit inside or out, the food is always delicious, hot and the plates are always well filled. There's a choice of the local Purple Moose ales on draught which is reason enough to visit. The Aber Falls spirits are definitely worth an explore. The bar is better stocked than a lot of much larger places. It's very family and dog friendly and they've accommodated our son's dietary requirements each time we've been which is greatly appreciated. Food wise I personally recommend the vegetable lasagne, the fish (plaice), chips and peas, the steak and ale pie and any of the sponge puddings with custard.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian lasagne is superb! Made with vegetables (not a generic vegetarian mince substitute) and it's really delicious ?
