Nice pub that's the hub of the local area. I only had a hot chocolate but the staff were very friendly and you definitely got the impression it'd be a great place to have food and a few

The sloop Inn is a lovely little pub/restaurant. We enjoyed our christmas eve meal here. A varied fare of fish pies, chicken pot pie, fish and chips, and burgers were ordered by our party, and each person enjoyed what they had. Warm and welcoming. Merry Christmas to the staff ❤️

All round fantastic pub. We visit a few times a year. It's Family friendly with seating outside for sunny days. And next to the green so kids can run around. Wide range on the menu and so far it all tastes amazing. Seasonal with dogs being allowed in the bar in winter months otherwise dogs outside all year round. Really fantastic pub, a gem for food and so convenient for exploring the gorgeous scenery.

A cute Welsh pub with a fantastic atmosphere and food that compliments everything. It’s relatively a great price for what you get. The Sloop Dog burger exceeded all expectations. If you want a pub with quality scran, you best come here.

What a great place to eat. The food is amazing the price is very reasonable. I recommend senior citizens to have a child Sunday lunch because the portions are very good and save you money.

Lovely pub, friendly staff, nice selection of drinks. Avoid the fish ?. Came out in 5 minutes and you could tell it hadn't been made fresh, mash potatoes with fish, didn't notice any cheese sauce, watery bottom. Planned this romantic trip for a while so we're left disappointed.

After heading out on a windy and stormy November day, we were looking forward to stopping off in this charming pub with its stone floors and open fire.Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any of it apart from a cold patio as they don’t allow dogs in. Quite why, I have no idea as it’s off season and a rustic pub.Hot chocolate was tasty but went cold quickly due to sitting outside!Think they are missing a trick here! Several dog walkers were left outside.

We visit this pub every time we are in the area. It is our ‘port in a storm’ literally! The food is always great and service is wonderful. This time we lost power at our holiday cottage so with no power and no phone reception they welcomed us and, as well as a lovely meal and a warm fire, they allowed me to use their phone and charge mine, and were lovely to our two young children.Thoroughly recommend! See you next time!

We pre booked but the sloop was pretty quiet on 1st October. We had 3 roast chicken dinners and one scampi and chips, with a few extras, everything was great. My highlight though was the goats cheese salad I had to start, it was excellent. Great place, great food and great staff, would recommend.

Proper pub, full of curiosities. Lovely staff. Very relaxing place to chill. Portgain is a tiny place dominated by a old brick works

Was hoping for a roast on a Sunday but they no longer do it. Had chicken skewers with slaw and chips for about £16 but needed to pay an extra £4 for a minuscule dish of veg . Very sweet - covered in honey / sugar. Although we had booked a table were told we had a two hour limit. No mention of our anniversary- 35 years despite my husband mentioning on booking- a verbal congrats costa nothing. Over priced and over rated. Shame- we didn’t bother with pudding would rather have a yogurt in the caravan than be further disappointed and at least we freed up the table early!!

We had a couple of drinks and dinner recently. I had the Ham Hock and my partner had the Chicken & Mushroom Tagliatelle..... both dishes were just delicious. Absolutely top notch food, service and staff, and a stunning location. Will definitely make a special journey to eat here again when we are next on our travels from Derbyshire:)

We have just had the best ploughman’s lunches. Fabulous ham, olive bread, Stilton, cheddar and pork pie with 2 fantastic chutneys. Great pub, we have eaten there before and always go when we are up here.
