Great shower, nice breakfast, staff were friendly and efficient

These are rooms attached next to a local bar. To paraphrase the manager, they do not pretend to be something they are not. That being said, it was a pleasant one night while we catch a ferry or train. Easy walk, (once you know which direction from the station).Room was tiny (especially with luggage) including bathroom, but was clean with comfortable beds and good towels. Surprisingly quiet, even with the window open a bit. Wifi was good. Full english breakfast was filling and one of the better ones we've had. The staff, Kelly and manager Sandra were hospitable, friendly and super nice (in a colorful barkeep way...they don't take much gruff, but give a lot of laughter).

Clean room and bedding. Good breakfast cooked fresh and served hot. No evening meal, but the staff and local customers were friendly. The bar reminded me of a social club.Rooms: Small, in need of refurbishment, but clean.Nearby activities: Next to the port entrance. Very convenient.Food & drinks: Good breakfast.

I only called in for a breakfast (three hours after my first one back in Llandudno) on my way around Holyhead, knowing that through the day I was only keen on seeing one particular place. It was a hearty, filling breakfast at a moderate price. It kept me going very well till the time I reached somewhere else to eat in the afternoon.Skinner's monument is nearby and I was told by staff and locals that sadly the only way to get to and from the monument was via a set of steep, narrow steps. I didn't get close enough to see how severe they were.It was also fun joshing with the locals. ?The ferry ⛴ terminal is a very short walk away so The Edinburgh Castle could be a convenient place to eat prior to a ferry trip. For me, it was a most welcome find.Nearby activities: The ferry terminal and railway station are both very close to The Edinburgh Castle.Walkability: As I saw it, the way to the town centre by foot was through the train station then across and up a walkway and bridge. Steps shorten the trip if it suits you.Food & drinks: Their breakfast is great value.

We stayed here one night Thursday, May 25, 2023. There is some confusion by a few others writing reviews here.... this is not Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, rather a seedy and tiny little bar with tiny hotel rooms on the 2nd floor. They do serve breakfast free with a room. They may serve lunch as well, but no food at all for dinner. We were arriving on the Stena Line Ferry at Holyhead, but by the time we arrived the car rental place was closed. Hence, stayed overnight here to get the car in the morning. We checked into our room on the 2nd floor - super tiny room (reminded me of a $25 hotel room we had in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania). $85 USD includes breakfast. No AC or ventilation fan in the room, so had to leave the window open all night. Noisy big trucks until midnight and then again at 5 AM. We were told to go 5 minutes away for diner at a Chinese place, but it was cash only and we had no British pounds. Staff here is friendly, but the teeny bar with billiard table is a hangout for seemingly lowlife bar flies. Easy walk to the terminal and car rental though.

Bit noisy with people outside the room late at night and the train sat running REALLY early but it is direct on the ferry port. Loved the room it was nicely decorated and comfortable. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk, sugars etc.Quality bedding and towels. Lovely lady served us and made our breakfast which was the best we've had at anywhere we've stayedNoteworthy details: We stayed with our motorbikes as we were on our way to Ireland. On booking they were very helpful,we could park our bikes under a shelter which has CCTV and it is locked over night

Stayed for one night after arriving on late ferry at Holyhead. Reception agreed to stay open until we got there after midnight for check-in which was great. The lady who showed us to our room was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spot on for the one night quick stay. Tidy room. Kettle. Great shower. TV.Breakfast the next day was great - full English and some cereal options too.The hotel definitely is ‘rough and ready’. On our late arrival there was some drunk locals sat at the bar - which is also the reception for check-in. There is a musty cigarette smell when you first walk in and the decor is quite out of date. Not so much parking next to the hotel is also a slight downfall. Aesthetics aside the hotel is great and fit for purpose!
