The service was good even though we waited over an hour for our mains. The staff were attentive and trying their best. Perhaps it wasn't their best chef cooking today? The cajun chicken burger was overcooked and dried out. The beef pie was served with thick and not very tasty gravy. The fish (with chips) was burnt and inedible (it should not have left the kitchen). 15 minutes later a replacement fish (now with undercooked chips) was greasy and had the texture of cotton wool. We didn't stay for dessert. It was very disappointing - we will stick to the Sea Shanty Cafe which has better food at a lower price point.

Disaster!Good Friday, two bar staff on. People waiting 30+ minutes just to order a drink!?‍♂️Dirty glasses covering every table.Who runs these places??

We had the supper menu and we were very impressed. The food was all home cooked, really tasty and the staff were lovely. I had lamb hot pot and my wife had crab fish cake.

There were 6 of us, and we had a wonderful evening, great food and great service. The staff were great, and we all felt we had received excellent service.

Ate in the bar as we had a dog, it needs a bit of attention. The food was excellent only let down by omissions.

Superb service service from Waitress. But disappointing Christmas Dinner despite pre-order with allergies highlighted and confirmed by email by Manager and especially considering high price paid. Ended up with a different, very plain meal altogether. Compensation of free drinks but the experience did blight our Christmas Day celebrations.

Nice little spot, food is good and the atmosphere is ok. It does get very busy though.Staff are wonderful and brought out a dog bowl and some doggy treats for our collie. If you get some good weather, it's much nicer sitting outside, quieter and less crowded than the very busy indoors.Parking: Disappointing that you have to pay for parking when visiting a restaurant you are spending even more money in. Not even free for the disabled. It is down at the Sea Shanty around the corner.

Often visit this place whenever I had the chance. Loved the Seabass dish. Worth a visit if you want a place to have a drink or two while having food. Also, try their 2 or 3 course menu you will not be disappointed.

First time here, lovely lady behind the bar, very friendly. Place run down and food was expensive for what we had. Gammon was very chewy and no peas which was odd! Pie was dry. It's your typical wetherspoons food at restaurant prices!

Dont understand the negative reviews, I've been eating here for years, I'm wondering if people are getting the place mixed up with somewhere else! Always had very good service/food/drinks, no problems. A few new staff recently so might not have been the quickest service we've had last time we were there but considering I've ate here about 50 times it still deserves a 5!

Couldn’t fault the food & the service from Jenny was fantastic. We booked a table for after the firework display (which was great) & asked if we could be seated earlier than planned; they happily accommodated us. Portions were generous, food was delicious & we were grateful that Jenny shared her local knowledge with us. Thank you!

Cheap pub masquerading as an expensive seaside Inn, but with seaside prices because of a very slight sea view. We just went here for lunch but was expensive for what we got. The philly cheese steak sandwich was possibly the worst I've ever had. Overcooked cheap steak on that cheap ciabatta knock-off bread with probably squirty cheese. If it had been half of the £14 they charged I would have said fair enough but at that price, every sandwich I've ever eaten was better than it. And the prawn mayonnaise sandwich was something I could have whipped up in 2 minutes. Just 2 slices of bread with what seemed like ready made prawn mayonnaise sauce in between. For £11 I would have hoped for at least a bit of salad to put the tiny pot of coleslaw on. On the plus side the fries were nice and the staff were friendly but unless you just go for a drink and chips, I couldn't recommend it.
