Visited for a bell target shooting match. Good friendly pub, excellent ale and good service.Parking: Car park is ok but not big.

The worst pub I've ever visited. The musician was amazing but the huge crowd of inebriated young girls flashing their knickers, screaming and dancing on the pool table were not. The management were made aware but did nothing but continue to fuel them. Disgraceful. Avoid at all costs. Red lion great over the road.

If you want a hearty home cooked plate of food, well cooked and great value then look no further. We all really enjoyed our Sunday roast beef and turkey too. Thank you!.... We definitely recommend The Black Lion and will return!

We have are used this place for 2 years when stopping at our caravan and we have always been made so welcome with our dogs (which I add are so well behaved) we asked since being took over was the dogs allowed (yes they was but very reluctantly) which made us feel unwelcome, we didn’t feel made welcome maybe we not a regular as in day in day out but every weekend we have had a walk up and drank there but no more for us I’m afraid just didn’t feel that us or the dogs was welcome and all we wanted was a couple of pints and a bag of scratchings for the dogs, to which I emptied the stale water with dead flies and wasps in to be asked if we had food for the dogs I replied no could I have some fresh water please which they did but seemed very reluctantly so I’m sorry won’t be going there no more on weekends
