Miskin Arms is a smart restaurant and part of a group which has similar establishments. Because the main offerings of fresh fish or meats are selected from the cold counter and charged by weight there is no table menu as such. It can seem a bit bewildering at first as you order direct with the kitchen at the sales counter. As such, there doesn't seem to be a waiter allocated to your table and who ever is passing does the necessary. I didn't find it a very welcoming system, some tables seemed to get water jugs alongside their bar orders, but we were not offered one. The food was nicely presented, tasty and served very quickly, but in common with many restaurants nowadays, green vegetables of any substance seem to be a rarity unless appearing as a decoration. There is also a 2 course set menu offered.

Very disappointing. Steak was very poor considering price. No seasoning and peppercorn sauce very bland. Scallop started was nice (only saving grace) dessert average at best. Very expensive for what you get. Not worth

Lovely stop for a coffee.Outside raised area with seating, room to leave bikes.

Gorgeous meal as usual. Tuna steak with lemon butter … what’s not to like? Good wine list, attentive service, and a warm welcome. Great place for a family catch

First time to visit. Food was excellent quality. Our main waiter was brilliant, some of the other staff not so attentive. Unsure if which wine to recommend, we were asked to open the bottle of wine ourselves, which is ok I guess, but when paying £33 for a bottle I would expect a little extra service. The chap that filleted our fish was brilliant, and clearly knew his stuff. Overall a nice place to visit. Atmosphere was relax and lovely. Would definitely return

Lovely place and amazing staff. All the food was excellent...except for one course sadly. I had the duck breast which I could forgive being slightly overcooked. However, the pepper on the fat was far too much - I could not taste the duck at all as it was completely over-powered by the pepper. I didn't raise it at the time as it was a very special occasion and I didn't want to bring down the atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend this place as everyone else's food was amazing. Including my starter and dessert! Definitely will be back!

We hosted our Mum & Dad's 60th Wedding Anniversary Celebrations at the Miskin Arms. There was 20 of us so they gave us their private dining room which made our celebration ? very special. The service from the staff was outstanding and the food was to die for. Thank you so much Miskin Arms for helping us make memories to cherish forever.

We were highly recommended this place for a Sunday roast by friends, we have been to Le Monde and Custom House and really enjoy going there to eat. It’s the same set up here even for Sunday lunch, you go up to order at the counter which is fine. We both had the fish goujons to start, really nice. I had the beef roast dinner and my partner had the lamb, it came and looked amazing however my partner’s didn’t come with a Yorkshire pudding. When we asked about this we were told the lamb doesn’t come with a Yorkshire pudding, odd, but the waitress did bring him one. The roast potatoes were soft inside but not crispy and very hard on the outside, which means they had been sitting for a while, the Yorkshire puddings were stale and not crispy. We weren’t offered extra gravy like the table next to us, nor a jug of water. All in all an ok roast dinner, tasted nice but we weren’t wowed by anything. Will give 7/10.

Booked a New Year's family meal for 6 people. On arrival, we was told to "go over there and wait", after waiting for around 4-5 minutes with plenty of staff passing us but refusing to make eye contact, eventually after asking someone, a host came over. We believe he is one of the owners (but maybe wrong), walked us over to the table, did not welcome us but instead starting talking to a nearby table and then just walked off. We had to ask for drinks, poor availability of drinks.. Food quality was generally good to be fair, but the service has a lot to be desired for. Staff even had the cheek to ask for a tip. Won't be returning.

Walked here on a wet night, but we're glad we did! Lovely night, fabulous food and really warm and welcoming staff. Extensive wine menu, several vegetarian options and plenty of food. Would definitely come back.

What a lovely evening. We were met by a lovely, attentive man who showed us to our table. All the staff were really helpful and knowledgeable, the food was amazing! Thank you for a fantastic evening.

Family dinner this evening, Steaks were nice but the chips were bone dry and obviously not cooked fresh. Also, when spending £35 for steak and chips id expect a few extra trimmings on the plate. Not here. I was going to complain about the chips but nobody bothered to ask us how the food was so I just paid and left. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Shame, it could have been so much better with a bit of effort and customer service.
