Laminated menu not clean, my beer glass filthy. Food not up to standard. dry chicken, battered cajun chicken burger, just a burger on a bun with no taste. I told the waitress it was different menu on line. Apparently that was the previous owners menu and they haven't been able to change it. This used to be a lovely restaurant. Not anymore!

Tony, the chef, made a stupendous extra extra hot beef curry for me and a mild flavoursum curry for the wife. The food and service was 5*. The service by the young lady behind the bar was excellent. Definitely try the curry night and drink on a Tuesday/Wednesday evening you won’t be disappointed.

Previously visited this venue 12 months ago. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans. Was told they did not have any beans. Visited again in January 2024, as my friend likes the curry. we were told they no longer cook curry. We ordered fish and chips. My friend asked for sweeteners for her tea and bread and butter with our meal. We were told they did not have sweeteners or any bread! Half of my fish was not cooked properly and was inedible. After stating the latter I was not charged for my meal. Will not be visiting again.

We visited with 3 generations, and all were really pleased with their meals. Staff were friendly and very attentive, even when a large party arrived unexpectedly. Couldn't fault the food, service or atmosphere.
Christmas Day! What an amazing experience, the food was honestly incredible cooked by Lisa and co in the kitchen, atmosphere was so lovely here! Michael and team out front made the afternoon so enjoyable for me and my family with service so attentive. Thank you so much guys for making our Christmas Day !!

I came with a friend on Monday for some lunch and a pint. We both decided to have steaks both cooked medium well and it was spot on it was cooked to how we like it perfect I would definitely recommend the tyn y capel and the young girl who served us was a very polite young lady and the chef can definitely cook steaks to perfection we may have to make this a regular thing on a Monday it was spot on thanks to the tyn y capel

4 of us had Sunday lunch here today and were really impressed with the food. One starter of black pudding, goats cheese and bacon stack which was absolutely delicious. 2 mains of lamb and 2 of the roast beef dinner followed by apple pie and sticky toffee pudding. All the food was excellent and at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be returning

I’ve always had a good experience. I stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered the black and blue chicken for the first time which is the house special. I’ve never been so fascinated with food that I couldn’t decide if I liked or not. It’s like marmite. I decided in the end that do I like it.
