Our usual was shut so we tried mel's cafe out. Service was lovely and quick, food was great! Think we'll make it our usual! Staff are lovely and friendly you can tell they know their regulars :)

We had been to this cafe a long time ago so decided to try it again. It is a little off the main street and probably won’t have found it without having been there before. Possibly an advertising board on the street, if allowed, would attract people’s attention. Just a thought. The cafe was busy and had a lovely warm atmosphere. The place was spotless and the staff extremely welcoming and friendly. The menu was very varied and catered for everyone. We had steak pie and shepherds pie which came reasonable quickly after ordering. It was piping hot, of good quality and delicious. Will definitely go again when in Mold. Note it is cash only but there is a cash machine not far away.

Popped in for lunch after shopping in market. Very big choice of traditional hearty food. Both went for cheese and ham omelette salad and chips, together with apple juice x 2 came to just over £18. Good value for good food.

Popped in for a takeaway lunch, baked potato. It was huge! Fast and friendly service. Reasonable price.

Excellent cafe. We had all day breakfasts. Cooked really well & excellent value. Only ‘off’ but was sausage was a bit cheap, but definitely can’t complain for the price. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Went at 2pm and was told they were "finished for the day" even though the cafe is open till 4pm.

Went here for lunch and ordered the fish and chips after being assured they were hand battered and cooked fresh on premises, they were cheap frozen pre battered and then burnt by chef !! Sister said she would have 2 sausages instead but took them home for the local fox as they were the worst of cheap frozen sausages !!! I chose to have the omelette as thought that would be a safe option, wrong, the underside was black so whole thing tasted burnt they even had the cheek to charge for it after me sending it back uneaten. Feel really sorry for waitress as she was lovely but whoever is playing at being a cook really needs to step away and get someone who knows how to prepare food so it is edible !! Will never go back to eat but they do a decent cup of tea.

Not a good lunch. Were told the cod was hand battered, but no, it was a nearly cremated frozen fish portion, and can't even hazard a guess at what type of fish. Good fries and nice fresh salad, but had to send the"fish"back. I ordered sausages instead, but the meat content was zero, so I didn't eat them either, they were quite unpleasant. Strange really, as the best pork butchers for miles is a few doors down, so why not get proper sausages.? My sister ordered an omlette in place of the burnt fish, but the omlette was also burnt on the underside.Felt sorry for the waitress who was clearly embarrassed.Nice mug of tea though.Won't be going back.

2 of us went for lunch today and after being assured the fish was hand battered and cooked from fresh we ordered the fish and chips. When it came it was cheap frozen pre battered and cremated ! We sent it back and sister said she would have 2 sausages instead of the burnt fish, big mistake as they were the worst of cheap frozen sausages we have ever seen my sister took them home for local fox as they were so poor, I ordered the cheese and onion omelette thinking you can't ruin something so simple, wrong again, it was totally black on the underside and tasted burnt throughout, they even had the cheek to charge for it even though it was uneaten. Feel really sorry for waitress who could not apologise enough, whoever is doing the cremating in the kitchen needs sacking and get someone who actually knows how to prepare edible food !!!!

The bacon eggs and black pudding were tasty, I didn't like the sausages, coffee top ups would be good as the coffee cups are small. Overall we enjoyed our breakfast. Service was good.
