Taj Mahal Spice has been my place to go for a long time. However placed an order lsat night and was quite disappointed. The delivery was only 20 minutes late but when it did arrive it was luke warm, I had to reheat it in the microwave. Although the food was tasty I was somewhat disappointed as I ordered a vindaloo that was not spicy at all in fact the vegetable curry was spicier. I do like the meat here, the Tandoori chef must be pretty good . Problem is they have forgotten items of my order more than once. Last night we had a £35 meal and it was missing the sauce for the kebab ( quite important to me) but more importantly they forgot both rices so we ended up dipping bread and cucumber into the curries.
Working in the area and time to sample another local Indian. Ordered the usual mixed grill with the addition of tandoori lamb chops. The whole dish I felt was a little underspiced and I am not convinced it was freshly cooked, rather than precooked and warmed up. The chicken did not have the fresh from the tandoor taste about it and the whole dish lacked a real spice and flavour hit.
