A really lovely traditional Indian restaurant which dates back decades and continues to provide really good food. The waiting staff are chatty and attentive and the food was excellent - probably the best value for money Indian meal I’ve had in Newport so far. Fancied trying somewhere different tonight…Very friendly staff on the phone & easy to use the app. The food was delivered piping hot within the hour & was/is one of the best takeaways we’ve had. We often order from other well established curry houses in Newport, but the New Lahore is a cut above the rest.I chose Lamb Dansak (old style). I love a good Lamb Dansak, but have been underwhelmed for years by the Dansaks in Newport. Most only offer beef or chicken.I was a little apprehensive & didn’t know what to expect. However, the curry certainly was ‘old style’ because it took me back at least 35 years to when I first tried it. The wife & I couldn’t stop saying how delicious the food was - as she ate her chicken Korma.I couldn’t find a fault with the service, delivery or the food. Absolutely stunning. Thankyou for the experience.You are now added to my speed-dial.

Ordered food for a delivery. It arrived 2 hours after said delivery time. Ordered two traditional old style chicken madras these were not what were delivered. The pomadoms were soggy too. Will never order a delivery again will only have a sit down meal.
