Bridge House, Pencader
Boiling hot chips and were tasty but a lot of bits this time half were tiny bits and got thrown in the bin .unusual as they're normally spot on tbh the rissoles were lush as usual
Best fish and chips around. Brilliant staff
This cafe used to be great, nowadays, not so much. Massively inconsistent on quality and experience (just look at the other reviews ranging from terrible to excellent - both food and service). I have previously enjoyed a meal here but recently was disappointed with a meal which although edible, was not enjoyable.
Staying locally on a short break and so happy we found this place.Friendly service with a smile and great tasting food all freshly cooked. Highly recommended ?
A very good fish and chip shop that you can eat in!!!. They also mainly take away fish and chips, chicken and chips. The menu is actually very varied and the food brought to our table was piping hot.Well recommended, staff are efficient and friendly.
What a rip off. Dreadful service, so slow, miserable staff, no interaction to tell you how long it will be, chatting among selves and wandering about like they are in their living room, asked me three times what i'd ordered then got it wrong and the amount of chips for large portion was what wd be a small in most places, yet still over £3 for them and chips undercooked and inedible. Fish was nice but batter really greasy. Stopped her on way back from a day out on holiday though would treat myself, but never going back again, dreadful.
Great fish and chips, fast friendly service, big servings.
I've been to a few Gastro's and Fish and chip shops in my time and this is the best Cod and chips I've had in a long time, generous, very fresh light and crisp. Tucked away at the bottom of Pencader Hill opposite the school. It was like a secret mini service station perfect for a rest stop, outside area, off road parking, toilets. I'll factor this in as a journey treat if I'm on the Llandysul Pencader road . Closed Sundays, the rest 10 to 8, eat in or takeaway
Spent over £8 on 2 rissoles and chips. No salt and no taste to corned beef rissoles and hardly any corned beef. A little more taste to cheese and onion one. Rissoles heated in microwave and very soggy. Chips full of small crisps and very greasy. Dog was lucky as we were unable to eat it.
It was nice, food tasted good albeit my fish n chips were bit too greasy for my liking. Staff were friendly, food packaged well. Would probably go again and see if it differs, next time will eat in.We took our food to a nearby viewing point to eat, but they had a good 16 tables at the chippy. Hard to judge on atmosphere and service as we didn’t hang around for long.Kid-friendliness: Kid food options and high chairParking: Adjacent area for parking, can easily take 12 carsWheelchair accessibility: Ramp access in/out of the building
Food excellent. Very friendly staff.
Great prices, great food, great people, great locality, easy to get to and easy parking! What more do you want!
Called to pick up a pre-ordered meal for 2. On arriving home, chips were under cooked and white in colour, and the rissole was mostly potato and squashed flat, the whole meal was disgusting and landed in the bin. Wont call again.
Very high quality fish & chips. Hot and very crisp for both batter and chips. Cooked with fresh oil and served with V. fresh newly-cut salad. Started looking in Carmarthen on a Monday lunchtime. Found this about an hour later having given up and on the way home. Surprise, surprise! one of the best fish and chip meals I've had in the last 40 years. Will try for other dishes in future. Seniors get £1.50 off, but tell 'em when you order because you get a smaller portion of chips. Glad I didn't! Chips so good I'd happily have eaten more... Diolch yn fawr Pencader!
Consistently great food, large portions and friendly service.
