Stayed locally and enjoyed the pub and carvery. The pub was pretty basic and a little old fashioned but the food was pretty good, a choice of beef, turkey or gammon or I think you could a bit of both. Lots of veg choices and roast or mash and to be honest for a good honest carvery it was really good. Would definitely recommend visiting if in the area. The staff and chef were very friendly.

We went on Saturday 10th feb 2024 about 12:45 we had the small carvery (£9.99) and found it very tasty with plenty of meat and the vegetables were cooked nicely with a little crunch and lots of flavour also the julienne carrots were nice addition.We were first in for the lunch time and it was very quiet.Toilets were very clean and close to dining area.Wheelchair accessibility: Good access from car park with a dropped curb into dining area.

Went with family on a Sunday tea time, never again - the meat was so dry it crumbled rather than cut when 'carving' - veg was bland and boiled to death... nothing to recommend unless you want a foot high plate of boiled blandness - which works for some I guess based on the stacked up plates I saw, but not for me, if I pay decent money I want decent food - and it's not cheap.

BAD customer service, awful food, Everything was reheated dry meat frozen veg , mash I could lay concrete blocks... ,and too boot they wanted us too order what we wanted over the phone as they were closing the carvery at 7.30 instead of 8pm as stated on there website?!. All I can get out of that explains,Is they don't care about there customersssx s

One thing that needs stating straight off is that despite it's listing this is NOT a gastro pub. It's the type of pub you'd find on a housing estate, it's not a traditional inn with an atmosphere, it's just a pub that serves food including scampi & chips and pie & chips, no hint of 'gastro' in the slightest.3 different experiences with our party - 1) carvery was enjoyed, though portion was quite small and the food only just tepid 2) jacket potato was ok but extremely small with the side salad far bigger than the potato & latte was cold 3) vegan lasagne was merely a tomato sauce with just one layer of pasta and was only 1cm deep so I ended up starving after eating.Another niggle was that there was no ale, just the usual selection of lagers and bitter on tap.Place was clean and tidy and staff were polite.On the whole though we were disappointed.Vegetarian options: Good number of vegetarian & vegan options on the menu, but as often encountered the Chef seems to think that vegetarian=on a diet as the portion size was extremely small.
Food was amazing and so was the girl serving the carvery. We accidentally ordered ‘two carvery’s’ instead of just vegetable carvery’s. The total was £27.90 for the food. The barmaid didn’t offer us a refund when we asked about the prices. She said it would have been cheaper if we had ordered the just vegetable carvery’s and to know for next time. Otherwise, excellent.Vegetarian options: Vegan gravy is delicious.

At last a proper carvery. The meat is sublime and the veg was very tasty. i will be coming back again. loads of parking at rear.

Eaten here a couple of times but this time carvery was dire roast potatoes were black and felt like chewing on pebbles ,stuffing was some sort of boiled mush ,carrots boiled into submission. Come on bull you can do better
