Ordered food tonight. Tasted fresh and piping hot. Porth palace never fails to satisfy my hunger. Been ordering here since I was in school (2012) roughly ? I know new owners take over for nearly 2 years and I can honestly say everything still lives up to standards. Fast delivery, the gentleman behind the counter was polite and gave me many options to the meals I wanted. If I have any special requests more sauce more veg ect they will add it on. Brilliant service brilliant establishment. Cannot complainI recommend salt and pepper chicken.Special omelette and chips (fresh cut real chips not frozen) My favourite is the gravy sauce?.

Ever since this takeaway has changed owners, I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with them. First of all, when the new owners had taken over the establishment we ordered a takeaway from them and when we ordered, they said it would take at most one hour. Come two and a half hours later we still hadn’t received our food. We then called Porth Palace and they told us it had left. Thirty minutes later the food finally arrived but lo and behold it was the complete wrong order. After phoning the takeaway, they said to come down and they would give the correct food (which is fair enough). Upon getting there, as soon as we entered the young man behind the counter was nothing short of obscenely rude to us, saying that it was not their fault that our order was wrong. At this point I was gobsmacked at his language and just decided to leave without and food.Cut to tonight where I had family from England coming down so we decided to order some food and they decided to try Porth Palace. I thought maybe they would have gotten better since the last few months and I decided to give it a go again. How much I regret doing so. We ordered about £26 worth of food and their menu stated that orders over £20 would come with free prawn crackers. So when the food came and we had no prawn crackers, I went on the phone to say they forgot our prawn crackers. What could be described as an onslaught of insults and vulgarities came spewing from the person on the phone. When I asked about the prawn crackers the person said that they do not give free prawn crackers. Then I asked why it was on their menu then they said that if I could read the menu I would see.Absolutely disgusting behaviour from them. A 40+ year successful business ruined by people who don’t know how to handle customers. I won’t ever be ordering from here again neither will my friends or family.

Ordered food for collection was told to collect in 20 minutes. My husband was first handed someone else's food before staff realised it was the wrong order. 45 minutes after initially ordering we were told our food was ready after my husband queried how long the food would be but they had forgotten to add a dish, we were informed that they would make that dish straight away and keep our food hot. 20 minutes later after asking a different staff member about the dish we were informed further that said dish had not been started and we would have to wait longer. Suffice to say after more than 60 minutes of waiting in the shop my husband requested a refund and left without the food.Ended up having a Chinese takeaway a few miles up the road from Golden house with no issues at all.

Having eaten here twice successfully, we thought we were on our way to having a new favourite local Chinese takeaway.Spent 45 minutes stood around waiting for my food only to be told they'd neglected to put noodles on my order.After speaking to the girl at the counter, and being told the noodles were coming, a further 20 minutes went by with no noodles.After speaking to another person at front of house, I'm then told the noodles weren't being made and that he'd have to put it through on the system. That'll be yet another wait.Suffice to say, asked for my money back, and won't be making the mistake of ordering from here again.Food's nice, but clearly unable to take or fulfil orders with any accuracy.Never mind. Back to Golden House for us.

For years and years only had Chinese from here especially loved the special gravy sauce haven't had one for a few months, there must be new owners because yuck! Watery tastless gravy, reheated solid cheap chips, beef chowmein tasteless, portion sizes halfed (not that it mattered as half was thrown out) spent over £40 even the prawn crackers was the rubbish bought stuff rather than made at the shop like before. Won't be ordering from there again

This is my local Chinese take away...and I am very happy. Very good and fresh quality, plenty of it. I love the crispy chicken, the best actually I have had in Porth area. The lovely lady always has a smile and she already knows what I want.... Jason Special. It is very popular in Porth .very busy on Saturdays though so I waited a bit long to get it. Salt and pepper chips are so delicious.
